Yeah, but I don't think it is Amazon. FedEx and UPS really jacked up their holiday closures. Two of my prime packages shipped further away to sit for the long weekend, then I got an email about an east coast delay that caused them to wait yet another day to start moving again. For both of my packages, Amazon provided me with the tracking number within a day as usual.

@meh3884: but that wouldn't explain why they're shipping it late. And they've never used the USPS to ship my Prime items before. It's like paying for luxury car and getting a Pinto

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. Wonder what's up, cheaper shipping I suppose (insert Big Red Face here). Woot, we need some emoticons!

P.S. - I love your tag!

I haven't had any issues. The last thing I ordered was late Thursday night and I received it Tuesday morning and everything I ordered for the holidays made it in the 2 day time period.

It seems to happen at this time every year. Places layoff their holiday temp workers and everything seems to slow down to a crawls pace for a couple of weeks. I can understand employees having post holiday burnout since it is insanely busy time but can be frustrating if you need something fast.

@capguncowboy: I haven't had that issue, I would definitely contact Amazon about it. They will probably give you the holiday volume excuse, though.

I've noticed that things are taking 2-4 days rather than 1-2 days to arrive recently. Could partly be because of the holidays. Could also be because more people currently have prime due to Amazon Student, Amazon Mom and other programs where you can get prime for free.
I agree that it can be frustrating.

Okay. I broke down and did the messaging thing on their site. I got hold of an honest representative who said "You're right, we dropped the ball on those orders and we've not been delivering the service you deserve" (I'm paraphrasing of course). Then she said, "I'll be sure to let someone know so we can do our best to avoid this in the future."

I guess that's sort of an apology. I really don't know what they could have done differently, but I don't feel any better about it. I really like Amazon, so I'll just forget about it and hope it doesn't happen again. I just hope it's not happening to all of my friends to whom I've said "Yeah, Amazon Prime is totally worth it..."

Yes, some items did take an extra day to arrive and at least one of our holiday orders was lost in transit. It happens, and Amazon was more than happy to replace the lost package and send it overnight, free of charge. I imagine that the volume over the holidays was crushing to both them and UPS/FedEx.

I haven't had any problems at all with Amazon's prime shipping. I even ordered things right before the 25th and received them in the stated time. And I've also ordered items after as well with no issues (like a few days ago). None of my packages have shipped USPS either, all of them have shipped UPS or FedEx (and I've ordered probably 30+ items in the past 2 months or so).

Haven't had any issues with prime either. One thing to look out for is they now offer a small download credit to prime members who chose to downgrade their shipping to a normal 5-7 day (they call it "no hurry" or something like that). Outside of holiday goofups, for anything in the future that comes USPS that'd be what I suspect most (as amazon does not use them for 2-day whatsoever to my knowledge).

I haven't had an issue.

I suggest you contact Amazon. Prime is expensive at $79 per year... It should be done right. I'm not a complain for freebie person, but in this case, I'd demand a partial refund. You are ONLY paying for expedited shipping. That's it. If you don't receive it, you shouldn't have to pay them.

(I'm assuming those items were prime eligible?) (I assume, also, that you didn't let your membership expire? :P)

vote-for2vote-against

@gregorylikescheapstu: yeah, Prime eligible, and all of the items in question were in stock. I even checked one item that has yet to ship (ordered 3 days ago) and it still shows, "Want it [TOMORROW'S DATE]? Order in the next HOURS and MINUTES and choose overnight shipping!"

It's frustrating to say the least. They didn't seem to want to offer anything up front. A few minutes after I got done with Customer Service, I got an email saying that it had shipped and was coming overnight. We'll see.

If this continues to happen, I'll ask for a refund of Prime and take my business elsewhere. I buy a majority of my household items (diapers, cleaners, air filters, computers/parts, etc) from Amazon and I'm not afraid to go back to spending my money at Sams Club.

Seems to me like Amazon is kind of slow these days. I ordered stuff on Monday and not a piece has shipped as of right now. Kind of annoying too since they used to be all katchow here ya go.

Now it's order and wait and wait and wait some more. Lame.

vote-for1vote-against

@gregorylikescheapstu: So you think $79 per year is expensive? Most people spend at least that much monthly for cell phone service and/or cable. I am not defending Amazon for dropping the ball in this case, as all of my items I ordered with Prime were delivered in a very timely manner (1-2 days). I am just trying to see your point of how expensive it is...and not really seeing it.

vote-for1vote-against

@jsimsace: Expensive doesn't mean it's not worth it. Expensive just means it's expensive. $79 is a lot of money. No defense of this remark is necessary.
