Just a note that it isn't always possible to give an exact shipping cost here. Shipping costs can change because of the dollar value purchased, number of units purchased, or delivery location.

@chris12345: Quite true. But it would still be nice to have a field on the deals form. You could have a radio button Free/Fixed/Variable (default = Variable); if "fixed" is selected a field to hold the price could become active.

Just the other day, I saw a great deal for DVD recordables... until you factored in the $10 ground shipping to my ZIP. Even shipping to the same state as the vendor's location was $8. Not Woot!

Sponsored deals aside, I think the majority of us try to get the shipping info in the title. If it's variable, I'll note that as well.

I'd be happy if we could get deal posters to put more detailed info in their description. A deal for running shoes for example really should say more than "running shoes 50% off." A bit of description would save me having to click through to the vendor's site and find out it's not the deal I thought it was.

@lavikinga: Ditto on the more description request. I'd also like to see the sponsored deals provide a description in the first comment. Okay, so they're trying to be funny in the description. Often, they are. I'd still like to have the basic information somewhere so that I don't have to go to the site.

If #sponsored vendors thought about this, they would agree. I seldom click on a web site if I'm just curious. If I know the product, I'll probably click through (myspicesage, for example), but if it just looks interesting, I probably won't. I actually place a high value on my time, and I think that of all things, sponsored deals should be going out of their way to let me know why they paid the extra kaching to be up in that short list.

Sometimes I see that @wootiewooterson &Co have done this, and I always appreciate it. I just wish it was policy, somehow.
