Do you like comedy music?
I've been a fan of comedy music, like the stuff played on the Dr Demento show and various college station around the country, as well as internet "radio" shows, for many years.
Some I would travel for a few hours for to see live in concert, like
Weird Al Yankovic (of course), Voltaire, Tom Smith and many of the artists from the Funny Music Project.
I love Wird Al's "I want a new duck" and "Bimbo Number 5"
Weird Al puts on an AWESOME show. I caught him a few years back for the Straight Outta Lynnwood tour. Got to meet him after the show! Super nice dude.
Heard Paul and Storm on one of the Nerdist podcasts and really enjoyed listening to them.
Of course, have to throw in my support for Weird Al. Have listened to him since I was much younger.
@cengland0: Bimbo Number 5 is by a group called "The Woody Show"
@thedogma: Yes he does!
@smudge262626: Paul and Storm are awesome live. I have been a fan of theirs since they were with Da Vinci's Notebook.
@budrose: Oops, my bad. I thought that was Weird Al that did that one. I believe the confusion is that Weird Al did, in fact, do a Bimbo #5 but it has different lyrics than the one I like:

I love the bands Don't Stop or We'll Die and Garfunkel & Oates--you can find both on Spotify!
@cengland0: nope.. still not Al.
So many were attributed Al for so many comedy songs during the peer to peer days because it was a funny song and Al was the only mainstream comedy music performer they could think at that moment.

The Demented Music Database is a great source for comedy

Of course Al has his own reference page ;-þ

Weird Al all the way. Too bad he didn't sing on UHF...
Tenacious D. A tribute to the Greatest song in the world!
Does Victor Borge count...?
I can occasionally enjoy some Lonely Island, but I have to be in the right mood.
@budrose: I'm not too sure about that. I listen to that song nearly every day when I'm at the Gym. It's on my phone and it plays randomly. The lyrics from all the sites are NOT the same that I listen too.
There's a sentence in the song that says something like, "on January 20, 2001 I have to work only have a day." I cannot find that sentence in any of the lyrics that are online and attributed to Weird Al. The one from "The Woody Show" is mentioned but I cannot find the lyrics to it. Can you?
Stephen Lynch is great. His songs are funny and he has a really good singing voice (played the lead in The Wedding Singer on Broadway). While his style of humor might not be for all and is definitely NSFW I find it hilarious.
Flight of the Conchords haven't been mentioned yet. I like them, although I haven't really listened to them outside of their short-lived HBO show.
@cengland0: I did post a link to all of Al's songs ever.. even the unreleased songs are listed.

Another reference for the Bimbo 5 mis-attribute

@tossthedice: Of course Victor Borge counts! (And in your head you should be hearing the sound of the exclamation point.)
And how can there have been so many comments thus far without one having mentioned Tom Lehrer, far and away the grand master of the genre? Now excuse me while I go out and buy some pigeon poison.
@raider9924: Took me awhile after Stephen's first album to really enjoy it. Definitely an album to be in a twisted state of mind :-)
This is very weird (no pun intended with Weird Al). I know I have a song called "Bimbo #5" but it does NOT match the lyrics I can find online. The first three lines online are:
One, two, three, four, six (notice it misses #5)
Everybody in the car, let's go have sex,
To the hotel around the corner,
The song that I have has these first three lines (transcribed by me):
1 2 3 4 5
In just about a year I can ditch my wife
I gotta a funky crib…
[cannot understand the name]
she says I can stay there but I don't wanna. It's just like my senior prom -- I really don't know how it all went wrong.
So who sings the version that I have?!?!? And can anybody find the lyrics to this version?
I really like Jon Lajoie and his music. It's mostly NSFW, but really funny. I don't know where you can find his stuff other than Youtube, but it's worth giving a watch if you're into comedic stuff.

@cengland0: I remember the one you are talking about..
They referenced Monica, Kathleen, Jennifer and Paula in the tune.
have you tried running it through soundhound for suggestions
@budrose: Exactly! That's the one I'm referring to so who is responsible for singing/writing that one?
Weird Al, Pinkard & Bowden etc. make radio worth listening to.
Weird Al was my start. Bad Hair Day was probably the first album I put in a CD player, and I still love Weird Al! I actually get chances to see him fairly often...he plays at the OC Fairground, and tickets tend to be somewhere between cheap and free.
I like a lot of Lonely Island's stuff. Bo Burnham is kind of a guilty pleasure sometimes. My late childhood included an album called Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire by Bob Rivers.
Yeah, I like comedy music!
@cengland0: From what I could find, someone named DJ Nelson is responsible for your song.
Denis Leary's @$$hole will always be my favorite!
Seconding Jon Lajoie (look on youtube, you won't be disappointed) and Garfunkel and Oates. "All Over Your Face" is better imo than "Slippery When Moist", but all of their stuff is hilarious.
I'm a fan of Jonathan Coulton (Code Monkey, Creepy Doll, Skullcrusher Mountain, etc).
I enjoy Bob Rivers with songs like "I am Santa Claus" to the tune of Sabbath's "Iron Man" or the takeoff on Soundgarden's "Blackhole Sun" called "Asshole Son" and some other great ones too...
Rodney Carrington's "show them to me". Gotta see it live to get the full effect.
