Which boots go best with a skirt and which ones are comfy?

Fashion help needed! I have some really cute skirts and dresses that I wear in spring and fall. I think they would be great with boots and tights in the winter, but I have no idea what type of boots would look best. I also need the comfiest ones possible. No heels, something with a good arch (or room for me to add orthodics) and something with a good shock absorbing system. So basically, I'm looking for something that feels almost like comfy running shoes, but boots! Yes, I'm probably asking for the I possible! If I can find the right thing, I'd most likely buy them in black and brown.

Can anyone suggest a brand or style or even post a link so I can see what style might look nice?
