this is an example of such a product, but I don't need another set of handsets, and it may only work with the handsets, not with other phones in the house.

I've done a lot of hands-on research about these. There are many options depending on your needs.

If you just want to have your existing home phones work with your cellphones (up to 3 of them) then get the XLink BT. If you also have a landline phone and want both your landline and your cellphones (without needing multi-line phones) then get the XLink BTTN. The device works very well and they have a surprisingly responsive tech support department (they actually worked with me to develop a firmware update that enables support for Caller-ID Names with iPhones).

If you aren't particularly attached to your existing home phones, you can replace them with an expandable cordless phone that supports Bluetooth. I recommend the VTech DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone System with Bluetooth (purchased on Woot a year ago for $60). It's the best of the Bluetooth-integrated cordless phones I've tested.

What I don't recommend? Panasonic & Uniden cordless phones w/Bluetooth, Dock-n-Talk adapters.

I have one more recommendation but I ran out of space in the previous post.

The Ooma Telo gives you a feature-rich VoIP landline for cheap with great Bluetooth integration.
