I don't have full size Dyson but you can't pry my fingers off the hand- held. Totally worth it.

Don't bother with a cordless, if you bother with a hand-vac at all. The battery operated models work OK for a while, then they really start to suck... a lot less than before.

These days, I tend to just haul out the behemoth vacuum cleaner and use the attachments on the hose. A little more effort, but it actually picks up the mess, and didn't break the bank.
