It's been a week, what are the results of the pre-spring cleanup?
As originally posted, here, pre-spring clean-up was a motion for users to expire deals they posted that aren't available anymore.
So staff, what are the results? How many deals expired? Was expiring above average?
For those users that still haven't, please go expire your deals that aren't available anymore!
We appreciate the help.
All told.
@jumbowoot: Thank you!

Any news on the possibility of giving rep credit to those who expire their own deals? It was mentioned some time ago when 'expire' went into effect?
Is something in the works to have an "auto-expire" on all deals? It would be especially helpful since all deals become invisible after 24 hours. (They're no longer 'Fresh'.) Finding dup deals is not easy, to say the least. I've submitted the same link, site, price, etc. & it has NOT come up as a dup. If we had an auto-expire date, it would take care of a lot of dup deals. ...Those that really are dups, & those that are timely, instead of stale.
@falcondeal: And thank you for this & your original question! Still working on expiring my really old deals. Didn't mean to hijack your question, just wanted to make sure @jumbowoot would see my related questions. Also, would like to know how much of a dent it made in old, old deals that are weighing down deals.
@gmwhit: No problem... do what you gotta do!
I know I have done dozens myself, mostly ones by websites that post their own deals.
I missed the original call. i will get to it.
@jsoko: lol, thanks for answering for me. haha. But yes, I agree, you have to get staff attention anyway you can.
My tattle rep is through the roof lol. I can pick any random page and find tons of old stuff. Still got a long way to go, but I'm sure progress is being made.
I did what I could. It's occasionally hard to tell, as some don't have distinct end by dates. But i applaud the effort.
for the record: http://deals.woot.com/questions/details/9536dfc7-518d-4ebc-b862-7a97d2354731/anyone-want-to-help-spring-clean-further#29 is the second half of the conversation. a group of us tried to go thru and expire large batched of daily deal company site pages from one and two years ago. at least most of the 40ish pages (not deals, pages of deals) i tattled are still alive. and my tattle meter fell to the ground and kept going. it's dropped to zero again today, when i've been tattling all weekend.
@moosezilla: Why does this not surprise me? <---Rhetorical. The longer I'm here, the more I learn that others before me have tried to make changes...years ago. Disappointing when you try so hard to improve things, offer suggestions & make such an effort. ...And it seems to fall on deaf, though seemingly 'grateful,' ears. :-(
