Hey.

I had a very long hard day at work and was unable to check deals.woot or email even once during the day.

Be that as it may (is that even a valid phrase?) I've gotten very very little email from deals.woot today (less than I would have expected), though I DID get the mention notification from the first comment above at 4:59PM today. (I got no other email for this question, though I wasn't subscribed to it until just now.)

@ironjelly: I trust you. I'm not just being kind, either. Here's the logic (might as well be entertaining while we wait):

1. I know that @josefresno, being a member of staff, and one of the head developers, is perfectly able to change whatever it is that is in your comment, and

2. I have always found him (@josefresno, that is) to be truthful.

Ergo, there is ample evidence that you, @ironjelly, may be trusted, and that in addition, you may be trusted to be a genuine alter ego.

Q.E.D.

@ironjelly: :-D Finding it difficult to believe alter anything. Or is that altar? Not receiving notification LONG after a 10 minute delay. Even on those I have not responded to or looked at, etc. Interesting name ironjelly...hard, yet jiggles ;-)

@gmwhit: FYI, notifications are set to a 10 min delay. If, however, you add a comment or answer to the deal or question before the 10 min period expires, the system assumes you have already read the comment or answer and will not send out the notification..... That is, if things are rolling along as they should.

[Edit] As the alter-ego test account for @josefresno says, if you trust those alter egos that is. (I wouldn't)

@jumbowoot My statement that I had started receiving notifications was correct. Have NOT received any more. Still broken. :-( Please look into this again; my response was premature... TIA

An aside: For some reason, I find it perversely amusing that someone voted this question down. Perhaps they don't want or need notifications, and they're relieved?? ;-)

@gmwhit: There's a magic window where, if you're active in a thread, and someone responds to you, and you respond back, they aren't always sent as notifications. I received the two just now, for this question. I'm still afraid to go look at the settings on my account page (just looking at them seems to break them all over again).

@shrdlu: Happy to hear it's not just me. Not happy to hear you're having problems, too. After I posted above that I had started receiving notifications, they seem to have stopped. I say 'seemed' because I did not receive a notification of your answer. May be fixed, may not. :-/

@gmwhit: You were not the only one. In addition, I have been having problems since yesterday. It started with the infamous and deadly "joined today and only bought one thing" which went away after a bit. I then noticed that people had responded to me, and that nothing after that was sent.

Sure enough, the checkboxes for notification had come unstuck, and they now seem to revert back to no no matter how many times I click yes. :-(

Perhaps The Great One (aka @jumbowoot) would be kind enough to respond, so that I can see if this has now righted itself.
