If you order IN STORE you can use your coupon and get free shipping. Otherwise I do not believe there is an option except on a select few "free shipping" items.

Here's a link to their list of stuff that ships free standard. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/nodepage.asp?rn=2233&; That's the best I could come up with. I have several emails in my trash from BBY with free shipping thrown in, but only for very specific things like sheets or coffee makers.

Also, the free order online/ship to store is still in Beta for them and only applies to stores in California, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

Unfortunatley they don't. There are, however, items that ship free and sometimes free shipping promo codes you can use. If you sign up for emails, you get 20% off one item right now, according to retailmenot.

I went to the store for a specific item a while back and they didn't have the color I wanted in stock. They placed the order for me, gave me the discount for my coupon, and shipped it free to my house. My impression was that decision is at the discretion of management at the particular store.

Thanks everyone! The BBB chains are so numerous you'd think they'd make it a little easier to order online. I guess if I have to go to the store anyway in order to get exactly what I want I'll just see what's there and let them order it in the store if the let me.

They don't, and at least my local store don't have the greatest staff - I was shopping for an item that they told me over the phone was in stock in my store... but it wasn't. But, they could order it for me with outrageous shipping prices. In the end, they made me choose between using a coupon and getting "free shipping" by them trying to pretend to be nice to the customer.

@snooty2toes: They charge you shipping if you order it in the store though... at least here they do.

@luvche21 thanks for the heads up, it seems like bbb is just making it incredibly complicated and behind the times! I think maybe I'll regift the gift card unless I find something instore that is not overpriced (ha!). It just sounds like they will be a headache to shop with any other way!

I've used a site like Plastic Jungle before where I ended up with a gift card for a store that is about 100 miles away and turned it to exchanging it for one I would use of equal value.

This what you do. You tell them you want to use a coupon and get the free shipping. If they say no, then ask for store manager. If he or she refuses then ask for the corporate office phone number. Trust me they will give you the coupon and the free shipping.
