I have a Case Mate leather case that looks like carbon fiber on my iPhone 3GS, a X-Doria case on my iPod 4th gen. I also have a Griffen shell on my iPod 2nd gen.
All great cases. Provide plenty of protection from drops and such.

If your looking for a case, get one that has a small lip over the front edges. That way if you drop it face down, the case should take most of the impact and save the screen.

The case I had for my 3GS was an Incipio NGP and I LOVED it. It was a rubbery material, gathered no lint, but wasn't slippery either. It fit my phone perfectly. When I upgraded to a 4S I got a Speck Candyshell. I'm not nearly as happy with it. The front edge has a softer material that I don't think is going to hold up very well and the back of it already looks scratched up. When it comes time to replace it, I will either go back to the Incipio NGP or try the Incipio Silicrylic.

I have heard people swear by the durability of Otterbox cases, but they are too bulky for my taste.
