Does anyone have any tips for jailbreaking an ipod touch?
I know that it depends on the version, but any help would be appreciated for my teenage daughter...all help will be strictly off the record, of course.

ummmm...if it is posted here, wouldn't it be "on the record"?
@mellielou: It's available all over the internet, but there are conflicting instructions...I am just looking for the one that works from someone who did it.. BTW, it would take quite a subpoena to get user names from woot!..that is where the "off the record" sarcasm came in.
@jsimsace: Check YouTube...
yup, definitely go with youtube.
A diversion is critical, but it always helps to have a guard on your side too.
...There's nothing illegal about jailbreaking an iPod. The information is conflicting because over the years, Apple has deployed various counter-measures against jailbreaks, and the groups that produce the software to allow it have had to keep up and change their strategies around.
Do a search for the version of the OS actually on the ipod, like "3.1.2 jailbreak" or something. That's a good starting point. The recent jailbreaks are literally click-and-go. Plug in the iPod, wait for the computer to detect, close iTunes, start up the jailbreaker, choose whatever options it has, click the button. Done.
