Did you hear Amazon to start selling wine... again?
Amazon.com is getting ready to go into the wine business. The online retailor plans to launch the new program in the coming weeks, just in time for the holiday season.
This is not the first time Amazon has tried to enter the wine business. In 2009, the company was prepared to launch, but its wine partner, New Vine Logistics, was having financial trouble. The plan was scrapped before it even started.
This time, Amazon is going directly to the wine makers. It met with Napa vintners on Sept. 24.

@lumpthar: That would be awesome! Now that I think about it, today's zinfandel looks tempting...can we work a deal? J/K ;)
@jsimsace: I will send you some wine if I get you in another BOC exchange. I'll flaunt those silly laws.
@jsimsace: Have you written those letters to your stick-in-the-mud-buzz-killer-we-know-what's-best-for-you representatives?
If this is the same as wine.woot, then it doesn't affect me. My understanding is that wine can't be shipped via USPS/UPS/FedEx to AR for some reason.
They already do.....it's called wine.woot.
I hope they do start offering wine. It would be so convenient/timely to be able to browse through a selection of wines...offered every day. Wine.woot is nice if you're looking for the wine listed for the day. Or are interested in any of the pluses. So often, not the case (no pun intended), for me.
It seems, when I'm looking for a particular red; wine.woot is offering white. Or vice versa. Since Amazon prices very competitively, I anticipate very good buys. Would be helpful if they allow you to order 1, 3, 6 or a case. Also, if they have Free Super Saver Shipping that would be an added bonus!
I once heard about this one website called wine.woot. Amazon should totally talk to them.
