Have the original Deals.Wooters stopped Wooting?
Looking at the highest upvoted question ever, which was asked two years ago (towards the opening of Deals.Woot!), I noticed that no one who commented is currently a black triangle and in fact most are currently white triangles. Where have they gone and are there any current black triangles who have been there since the beginning?

It seems that most have. That was still during the beta test, just before Deals.Woot opened to the public. I know of at least one beta tester who currently has a black qone.
@chris12345: snicker
@shrdlu: But she doesn't have a beta tester badge.
@chris12345: I gave up on it a while ago. Heck, even staff can't hang on to their badges. I don't know that I want one if it's going to be a come-and-go kind of thing.
I just briefly scanned over that question (all FOUR pages), and I have a REALLY good memory. Most of those people weren't active, and some of them posted only there. Lots of people showed up for a day or two right after it left beta, and then vanished again.
Here you go:
It's an oldie, but a goodie. ;-}
@shrdlu: ;)
Sad to say but... Everyday my hope for this site decreases... I constantly see more "deals" but only 10% are half-way decent.
I stumbled across this same question (the one in the link) a couple days ago. Thought it was funny so I up-voted it just because. :)
@jsoko: A common sentiment I've seen is that this has become less about good deals on various items and more about impulse buying. I have to say I agree.
they gave all they had.
Every upvote or comment @ woot takes a day off your life. black triangle = early death.
How do you know if you're an old-timer? (I went to check my first comment right here. Yup, I'm narrating a comment.)
...Haha! totally off topic but: Yesterday I was playing with a little 7" TV I bought from a DW deal a couple years back and I said to myself "How much did I pay for this? I Hope it wasn't more than $50 bucks.. damn, I wish there was some way to find it on Deals.woot.."
Coincidentally, while checking to see when my first comment was I FOUND THE TV@! It was $49 w/ free shipping! <-bam.
I was totally unimpressed with Deals in beta, and didn't bother giving it a second chance until about two months in or so. But I did look around in the first few days.
@drchops: If you were part of the Beta Test, that would put you in the group. The question I provided a link to is a useful timestamp for the "surprise" of Deals suddenly moving out of beta testing, and being available to the public (it was the Tuesday before Black Friday).
I don't see any actual activity from you earlier than about a year ago, and your join date is in March 2009 (Deals started its public beta for black badges and charter members in or around the beginning of October in 2009, and it's unlikely you'd have made the 100 purchases necessary to be a black square by then).
There are a lot of people that have come and gone. Some of them leave, and return, multiple times (I'd be one of those). It's just a web site, although it can be pretty entertaining at times. :-D
[Edit: Forgot to check for comments. Your first activity was closer to two years ago. Need MOAR coffee.]
I have been cleaning out mailboxes - came across my invitation to be a beta tester, but due to a lot of stuff going on in my life, I was unable to do so. I did keep checking the main woot site every single night though.
