I have 2 of these: 1 for home, 1 for camping. Best tasting coffee and never any grounds in the cup.

I used to own 2 Bonjour glass presses and a lexan camp press, they all went away after I started using the Aeropress.

By the way, if you drink french press coffee regularly you may want to get your cholesterol checked, apparently there's an oil in it that can raise LDL levels.

I have had the best luck with the Bodum Chambord. They are durable, good looking, and easy to clean.

Another aeropress fan here. Absolutely love it. However, a senior citizen might have a little difficulty pushing the tube down. It requires just a little bit of muscle.

Go with something simple like a Bodum Brazil or such. I usually check amazon warehouse deals for a "used" one (which is almost certainly not used, just opened and returned -- in any case, wash it).

Cheapest 4+ stars item I can find there is an 11.8oz at $13.52 here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B008FT2TY8/ref=dp_olp_used_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ

I came here to say aeropress

I have the Bodum Brazil and it's fine. I also have the recycled plastic one from Starbucks and it's fine, too.

To me, they're all pretty much the same. To get good coffee from the press, it's about the coffee, the grind, and technique.

Another vote for Aeropress. Be aware that to get the best results with the Aeropress, you must be very precise with the temperature of the water (IMO).

I have a Krups and I love it. Can't seem to find a link for the actual press, but here's the grinder I have by Krups as well, over 1800 reviews. Good luck!

@starblind: The Aeropress would not be affected by these findings since it uses a linen/paper filter. AFAIK, they are the only press that uses a filter.

Thank's to everyone for all the suggestions and advice.

I decided to buy a Bodum Brazil 8 Cup French Press for $17.20 with f/s.
