Do comments get automatically deleted after so many downvotes?
Mine probably hit -50 before it got tossed, but it was in poor enough taste that it could have also been deliberately deleted. I'm just wondering though.

I have an answer buried somewhere here on one of the questions that reached -40, and it was never deleted. If the comment was truly in bad taste, I'd say it was deleted for that.
@stark: If it was in poor taste, then it was deleted for that reason. Things are not deleted due to negative votes alone. One or more of the people voting it down probably took the time to hit the tattle button on your comment. If it was at night, or on the weekend, when there is only a skeleton staff, it just took longer to be deleted.
The upside (for you) is that you don't have a comment hanging around with a ton of negative votes. You may consider this a learning experience. Or not.
It was deliberately deleted as being in poor taste.
AFAIK, they don't get deleted for having a lot of down votes and may be not in poor taste either (define poor taste). They do get deleted by the mods for violating some rule(s) which can include being offensive (define that, too).
