Oh man, very tough question as there are so many funny ones out there.

I would have to say my favorite comedy is Dr. Strangelove

vote-for8vote-against

Top two -
Princess Bride
This is Spinal Tap

I like Dumb and Dumber, but I still laugh at Tommy Boy even though I can quote it almost line for line.

There's Something About Mary

It's not my favorite comedy - that would probably be Blazing Saddles - but it's the one that always makes me bust a gut laughing whenever I see it.

I would go with "My Sassy Girl", the original korean version.

vote-for17vote-against

I may be more low brow than the rest of you, but I love Office Space and Super Troopers.

vote-for3vote-against

Sooooooooo many to choose from. This would be a lot easier if I could pick 10, but today I'll say that the funniest move in my opinion is 'What's Up Doc.'

vote-for15vote-against

Would have to go with Blazing Saddles

Okay, maybe not the "funniest movie ever" but definitely one of the best FUNNY MOVIES ever:

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

vote-for13vote-against

No contest - The Blues Brothers.
"We're on a mission from God."
Hilarious and awesome music. What more could you ask for in a movie?

vote-for4vote-against

@drchops: You got my vote! Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas for sure! +1

vote-for7vote-against

I'm going to say The Big Lebowski. Objectively, probably not the funniest movie ever made but I enjoy it!

vote-for10vote-against

I'll put a serious answer out there too - The Jerk

vote-for12vote-against

Caddyshack. No doubt

A Fish Called Wanda is the one that made us laugh the most, so it wins for funniest. But The Rundown wins for favorite, as we watch it over and over and like it just as much every time.

vote-for3vote-against

Laughing to tears list:(I know repeats, but I agree with them!)

Airplane
Something about Mary
Austin Powers Goldmember (mole quotes)

vote-for3vote-against

Hott Fuzz, Paul, Zack and Miri.

vote-for3vote-against

Reno 911!: Miami
"If you don't respect a gator, gator don't respect you."

vote-for4vote-against

Old School. The tranquilizer scene alone is funnier than almost all other movies combined. This is a fact.

vote-for2vote-against

oss 117 -french-available on netflix

vote-for2vote-against

Midnight Madness makes me laugh every time I see it, still.

vote-for7vote-against

Hard to choose between these two

Animal House and Blazing Saddles!

Who came in and downvoted all of the comments? (not all, but a lot)

I'd be REALLY curious to hear the thinking behind that (if there was any).. even though I know I'll never hear it lol.. those are the kind of people who like to hide.

Seriously though, who does that kind of stuff?
The question wasn't "What movies do you disagree with being the funniest ever?" :)

Monty Python & The Holy Grail! Surprised this one isn't on the list yet with quotes like this:

Sir Bedevere: Does wood sink in water?
Peasant 1: No, no, it floats!... It floats! Throw her into the pond!
Sir Bedevere: No, no. What else floats in water?
Peasant 1: Bread.
Peasant 2: Apples.
Peasant 3: Very small rocks.
Peasant 1: Cider.
Peasant 2: Gravy.
Peasant 3: Cherries.
Peasant 1: Mud.
Peasant 2: Churches.
Peasant 3: Lead! Lead!
King Arthur: A Duck.
Sir Bedevere: ...Exactly. So, logically...
Peasant 1: If she weighed the same as a duck... she's made of wood.
Sir Bedevere: And therefore...
Peasant 2: ...A witch!

I'm gonna have to go with Dumb and Dumber as well. One of the few movies that I can watch over and over and still laugh constantly at. That was before Jim Carey became annoying.

vote-for3vote-against

Ok, I'm now realizing I'm an idiot.

GalaxyQuest! Funniest movie ever. Something for the sophisticated and lowbrow. Everyone will love it, not just the neanderthals.

vote-for2vote-against

Ace Ventura: Pet detective.

@clarinerd: I'm glad I'm not the only one who loved "What's Up Doc?" Saw it when I was a freshman in high school (about a million years ago) and cracked the theater armrest pounding it while I laughed. It seemed to be one constant hilarious thing after another with little time to breathe. I need to find it somewhere and watch it again.

Life of Brian / Airplane / Animal House /

Anyone remember "Porky's"?

vote-for1vote-against

The Princess Bride
Madagascar
Dumb and Dumberer

It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. One of the funniest movies ever, rife with comedic talent that we're unlikely to see again in a long time. I know that there was an attempt to copy it several years ago with the movie "Rat Race," but it was a feeble attempt to copy the great film.

Ruthless People
Big Trouble

Both make me laugh so hard I cry.
