Do You Think This Is A Good Way To Add Polls To Your Questions?
Someone just posted a thread titled, "Would you like the ability to add polls to your questions?".
I think it's a good idea, but it strikes me that we can already kind of do that.
How? I'll just show you....

Yes
No
Undecided
(really? Why bother pushing a button if you don't have an opinion?)
No, because the fact that you can downvote means that if 18 people believe one way, some others can vote the choice down and make it look like it was only 10. Granted, you can hover your cursor over the number to see the number of positive and negative votes, but not everyone will do that.
This is the way it was done in the past when someone wanted to poll the deal-wooters.
Good point, @captainsuperdawg. Cheaters gonna cheat.
Stupid jerks.
lol, i just upvoted both yes and no. knocks pencil off the table
While I'd like to see a more formal way to do polls, and one that people who choose to screw around with can't, this is a creative and good way to do it.
Since people can up or down vote on all three though, in essence those who want it get 3 votes, in this example, and those who see it as only right to vote once, will only get one vote. So the results will not be very accurate, but certainly better than weeding through screens & pages of replies to figure out what people think...
Nice one!
