$17 including a $5 tip. I go whenever my hair bothers me (in the summer, maybe twice) plus whenever my girlfriend or daughters bother me (in the cooler weather, maybe another four times).

@baqui63: The prices is why I gave up on haircuts for myself because I can grow hair I just got tired of paying for my sons, mine, and soon my daughters when she gets older. So I bought a $60 (about 3 haircuts)hair trimmer thats lasted 2 years now and still works great and started shaving.

$35 about every 6 weeks. I found a great stylist who knows how I like my hair cut so it is definitely worth it to me. I can usually tell its time for a haircut because my Persian cat is ready for his Lion Cut at about the same time. I pay more for his Lion Cut but, of course, it is a whole body trim. Plus he has claws ;).

I have cut my own hair for about 3 years now. It was too expensive and time consuming to go get it cut every month. At first, I have to admit it looked like a blind man was giving me my haircuts, but I've gotten pretty good at it now. Learning how to use a trimmer on the back of your own head isn't easy, but once you get the hang of when to taper and how high to go, it's not so bad. I've gotten my cut time from start to finish down to about 5 minutes and it looks like I've been to the barbe every time.

My son is old enough now to sit still so I cut his hair too. His hair looks much better when it's cut by me than it does when I've taken him to a barber

I get my hair cut every 4 weeks. I go to a nice fancy salon that my wife goes to. Her hair cuts are like $175 (sigh), mine are $16 + a $4 tip, so basically $20 a month.

I too cut my own hair with a razor. Every two weeks or so I break out the clippers and go to town. I figure I save $30/month and have paid for the clippers at least 100 times over since I purchased them.

Fortunately I just do a #4 on top and then a #1 fade on the sides - so it keeps it easy.

$20 (including tip) at the local Super Cuts whenever my neck hair gets long enough that I actually notice it sticking out of the collars of my dress shirts.

I'm a guy with curly hair that's too long for clippers, so it can be time consuming. I went to the same lady for 17 years, every six weeks or so. First time she charged me $15, I gave her $20. And 17 years later she wouldn't accept a penny over the $20 bill I'd give her each time. Unfortunately she died of an infection while hopsitalized, so I started going to someone else in the shop where she worked, and she charges $30 and I give her $35 each time. I could probably go somewhere a little cheaper and get just as good a haircut, but I saved a lot over the years for never having to pay more than $20, so I'm not gonig to pinch those pennies.

I go to the Main Street Barber, who currently charges $8.00 but I give him a $10 bill every time. I go maybe 3-4 times a year.

I go to the local hair dressers where my friends cousin works, she usually charges me $9 and I tip $6, or if she is not working its $16 and I tip $4.

As to how many times, maybe once every 2-3 months or so. I walk in, sign in, have a seat till they call my name, go sit on the chair, promptly tell the person I just want it cut shorter, I don't care how short really as long as something is left. I usually fall asleep a bit while they are cutting it, wake up when its done. I personally hate talking to them about random stuff.

I bought a commercial grooming razor at Costco a few years ago for $30. My wife cuts my hair with it once a month, so I guess I am down to about .75 cents a month now! :) Works great.
