Who taught you how to tie a tie?
I just had to teach my son how to tie a tie. It was hard! And we were able to use the Internet. Who taught you?
It was a combined effort of my 2 older brothers, my dad and my grandfather. I think my brothers taught me a single windsor, and my dad and granddad taught me the more proper double.
It's funny you ask this question though. I was just talking to my son about neckties earlier today
The United States Marine Corps, thank you very much
My dad.
Youtube.
My Platoon Sgt in the Army.
@olperfesser: Me too. Good ol' pops.
Friend did, after my father passed away. It was the four-in-hand, of course, which I used for 7 years.
I then started experimenting on my own with new knots: the windsor, the half-windsor and finally settled on the pratt--which is like a simpler version of the-half windsor that produces a non-constricting, symmetrical knot.
@olperfesser: Mine too
My ex-husband. About the only useful thing I got out of him. And not that useful for a woman.
brooks bros. They also gave me a cheat sheet with stepxstep instructions for a variety of tie knots
