I am not a Deals.Woot employee. I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. However, IMHO, any item that is made specifically to bypass a safety device is questionable at best. Since we live in a very litigious and not libertarian society I can see why a company would be hesitant about offering, or even posting, an item like this.

Take this for what you will, I did not tattle on the deal.

@jazcat: Thanks for your response since no employees are lol

vote-for1vote-against

any idea on how you find out if you were tattled on?

vote-for3vote-against

Not really, unless someone posts in the comments of your deal why they are tattling before it disappears. Asking why your deal was removed here is fine, they don't have a lot of employees working through the night so you might not get a response till tomorrow.

Get it for free.....Go to your car's dealers parts counter and tell them you need "Seat Belt Extension"...they are required by law to give it to you FREE. That item will do the same thing.
I drive limo's and will often sit for hours in a car and sometimes running so the A/C or heater is working....after so long you really get tired of that seat belt wrapped around you. But then the dang car will ding sitting still if the key is on. Now the issue is solved!...and for free!

But do wear your seat belt when teh car is moving....

Couldnt you just buy a spare latch and stick it in there?

vote-for3vote-against

@vinithehat: I think that might have been the premise of the OP's item in question.

I guess no staff members want to answer my question

@randyjregan87: I need a link or a description. Sounds like your deal was shady at best and was thus removed. Feel free to correct me.

vote-for1vote-against

@loosecannon67: (dot)net perfectly fine website and product

vote-for6vote-against

@randyjregan87: Permit me to disagree on all counts. Aside from the fact that this site looks like it was put up yesterday, this site features a product that IS NOT legal in ALL 50 states. No reviews, no way to make direct contact, and the very fact that this item puts human lives in danger is the reason why it was quickly taken down. I'm leaving the link up till my shift is over so that others in the community may verify MY reasons for marking this as not Woot worthy. Do you have any other questions?

vote-for1vote-against

@loosecannon67: It is legal in NH and any other state, the product is not for driving it is more for when you have heavy items in your passenger seat and it sets off the alarm, I use mine for my dog that sits in my passenger seat.

vote-for4vote-against

@randyjregan87: I know nothing of NH or your driving habits. What I do know is that at the bottom in camouflaged font reads "NOT LEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES" and that this item could be easily abused. Please do not post from this site again as it will be taken down.

vote-for1vote-against

@loosecannon67: Ok, so you are saying if a set of mufflers showed up on this website from flowmaster you would take it down? 50% of the exhaust they sell are "Not Legal in all 50 states". but what ever you choose, you guys are very interesting with the products you allow such as "The HandJob".

vote-for4vote-against

We could drone on about the reasons why this should or should not be legal but neither party here at D.W can do anything about it.

If someone posted Flowmaster "mufflers", the likelihood it would stay up is greater because it's not trying to be sneaky about it not being legal in all of the country. Also - it's a much more reputable distributer.

This entire site to me just /begs/ for the term 'shady'. And on top of that, as a marketing strategy, they are hiding the fact that it isn't legal in all 50 states and then don't even let you see which states it IS legal in.

vote-for2vote-against

@randyjregan87: sir just accept your defeat and find another site to post from.

@loosecannon67: "What I do know is that at the bottom in camouflaged font reads "NOT LEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES" and that this item could be easily abused."

Good for you and your eagle eyes!

@magic cave: I think it's even better that they even put an exclamation mark at the end of that statement "Not legal in all 50 states!" as if it was an exciting and cool thing.

Like, 'Alright! I got my possibly illegal 10 dollar piece of plastic in the mail today!!!'

vote-for1vote-against

@loosecannon67: I think your reasoning is pretty piss poor, given that not only are many deals already posted not legal in ALL 50 states, the woot main site, sell out woot, wine woot, and sponsored deals are often not legal in all 50 states (or not legal to be shipped to all 50. Radar detectors (the most obvious and frequent that I've noticed), guns & knives, and even wine itself. So, if you're the one that deleted the deal, your name truly fits, as your "policy" is inconsistent and at odds with the practices of woot itself. (Are you the one that deleted the gun grease deal, btw? I know that there are some people with torches and pitchforks looking for you.)

vote-for1vote-against

basically it was removed because the web designer sucked haha That is my feeling on it, the product is not illegal anywhere, not wearing your seat belt how ever is illegal in 49 of our 50 states. Radar Detectors are illegal in about 30 states but oh well, the product works for what its meant for.
