Not a dentist viewpoint (though I have been told to use Colgate Total), but, empirically speaking, Crest always leaves my teeth feeling scuzzier than an equivalent-grade Colgate.

my dentist is the lone 1/5. he tells me to just use a wire brush and some baking soda.

I thought it was 4 out of 5 dentists recommend sugarless gum for patients who chew gum. I can't say what the 5th dentist recommended, but suffice it to say he's doing hard time for it.

I'm an anti-dentite, so their opinions mean nothing to me.

But I prefer crest, my wife, colgate. Let's just say I do the grocery shopping :)

My dentist does recommend Colgate.

Since both companies, claim 4 out of 5 dentists recommend their product, and Aquafresh has similar claims, the answer is its playing with statistical numbers...

Find 4 dentists who recommend Colgate, find 1 who recommends something else. you now have 4 out of 5. It doesn't matter you asked 14 dentists to compose this sample group...

Colgate is way better..... I asked my dentist and I had asked my old dentist too and they both said Colgate. Plus it has a better taste in my mouth and I feel more fresh and clean w/ Colgate. I had tried Crest before and I felt like it wasn't good enough.
