Ladies of a certain age, what's your favorite beauty product?
I've been a loyal fan of Olay since I was a teenager but would love to hear what are your favorite products? Is there anything that really makes wrinkles go away/tightens sagging skin/erases age spots, etc?
Favorite make-up and favorite self-tan product suggestions are also welcomed!
Hey! I resemble that remark. ;-}
I've been using Lancome since before you were born. Yes, I'm sure about that (given that you've mentioned your age here and there). I still miss Niosome, which was the best product ever invented for the skin. It was discontinued years ago, but I continue to hope. In the meantime, according to my purchase history, here's some suggestions:
Visionnaire ([LR 2412 4%], Advanced Skin Corrector, Wrinkles - Pores - Evenness)
Rénergie Cream Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Treatment
Bi-Facil Award Winning Eye Makeup Remover
Please note that I buy Lancome almost exclusively. I've tried other things, but I end up returning every time. I sometimes switch from Renergie to Absolue.
Absolue Premium βx Absolute Replenishing Cream SPF 15 Sunscreen
I might add that I should thank you, since there's a one-day promotion going on right now, and I needed stuff anyway.
@shrdlu: Thank you! I was hoping you would reply because I definitely trust your judgement. That one day promotion...available online? (Never mind, I already found it!)
Red sports cars.
Dim lighting.
@OhCheri: If you've got the money, honey, I've got the product for you AND the little sucker WORKS!!! PaloVia laser http://www.palovia.com/ I purchased mine through QVC (and I laugh when I think of all the times I made fun of my Mom for being a QVC shopper!)
It works on the same principle as Thermage. "Short pulses of micro-fine laser light reach deeply into the skin's sub-layers, treating the aging support structure. Then the body's natural healing process sweeps away older, damaged tissue and rebuilds it with fresh, new collagen and elastin."
I've been a sun lover my entire life. Spending all that time on & in the water has made my laugh lines noticeable. Using it on the strongest setting, this little gadget erased those lines by at least 60-70%. The finer ones are all but gone! Best birthday present I've given to myself. I use it all over my face. It does a great job of lightening a few hyper-pigmented areas I have as well. I adore it!
PM me if you have questions.
@magic cave: Zing! LOL! YOU have GORGEOUS skin, BTW!
@lavikinga: I have a question...will you give me one for my birthday, haha! At that price I'll just have to age as gracefully as possible :-)
But I do appreciate the input. Maybe someday...
@ohcheri: I took advantage of QVC's lower price+a special sale AND their no interest installment billing. It made it much more affordable. And when my husband even noticed the wrinkles were much less, I KNEW it wasn't just my imagination.
@lavikinga: Maybe I'll find one on eBay :-)
@adadavis: hahahaha well done.
I seriously love my Clarisonic. I've always had bad skin, but since I started using the Clarisonic once a day with their rejuvinating facial cleanser my skin has never looked better. It could be clearing up with age (I'm now mid thirties) but I doubt I'm that lucky. I started getting facials this year and my facial woman has said my skin is really clean from the Clarisonic. I'm really impressed. I have had no major breakouts since I started using it, just a few small ones that clear up quickly, usually if I go a few days without using it.
@ohcheri: For what it's worth, @lavikinga has beautiful skin. If she ever really had laugh lines, then the magic laser thingy is definitely worth saving up for!
:::adding it to my Christmas wish list:::
@lavikinga: [blush!] Thank you! (It was the soft, dim light of the little bistro we were in, dontcha know?)
@magic cave: :) Yep, the haze of powdered sugar in the air can do that for a girl.
@mkdr: I've wondered how well they work. I just use a "buff puff" facial sponge, Avalon's Co Q-10 Facial Milk and Pro-Active's Toner & Lotion. The combo of using all four has kept my rosacea under control for several years, especially the associated acne that comes with it.
