I know we collapse deals so this isn't as big a problem as it could be, but it is still annoying, especially the volume in this case.
@mtrlgrl: I tattled and Staff is looking into it. Really thank goodness for collapsing tabs. Some of those deals are yucky.
@hobbit: I know! There are about 55 deals now in the past hour. I tattled too but not sure which method of notifying staff is best/quicker.
Here are some negative reviews I found of this company:

Do they really need to post every deal from that site?
I don't know why but this makes me furious. They have some nerve doing this. I posted a comment on many of their deals saying not to buy from them and the links of complaints, but gave up. Where is the mega pew-pew-pew gun today?
edit: 76 in one hour! Holy crap!
6 pages of deals in less than three hours. Can you say excessive? They are not paying attention to any of the comments and just keep posting. I know several people have tattled, and I thank the heavens for collapsing.
Remember someone said he doeson't mind if retailers list all their deals from their website. So this is what -we- have to look forward to.
@mtrlgrl tattle button works fine. Posting here is a good way for us to vent about it though ;)
I noticed them last night when they posted a deal for male erm you know enhancement and this morning I saw a similar one for female you know enhancement. Oh plus the Anabolic Muscle enhancer.
I wonder if they are from China too, can we abuse them like we do the counterfeiters now?
This is obviously a script that someone has set-up which has allowed them to "hack" the entire V*.com inventory into !.
Tried digging up the REAL info on the company, and its all blocked in the WHOIS registry - thanks to Yahoo and MelbourneIT (pretty much useless in dealing with spammers that use their services).
Of course I'd never advocate spamming the spammer - but if one so chooses to contact the official domain administrator, go to http://www.MyPrivateRegistration.com with VITADIGEST.COM in the form.
2 cent suggestions
How about the following:
No new user can post more than 3 deals/day unless the account is >1 month old [that sounds generous], and/or
No new user can post more than 3 deals/day for the same domain name,
and
Require ALL Community Deals to be inputted, non-bot verified with CAPTCHA, and double-checked with email verification back to the user [forcing an emailed link of the deal to be clicked and A SECOND CAPTCHA] before its posted to the world. (I put this verification into a client's website and it "took down" all automated spam postings to ZERO.)
@wootcompare: I hate Captcha I always mess up. Plus bots can get past that anyway. We have discussed that at least twice on AtC before feel free to search for the discussions. I posted articles from sites that have shared about the issues surrounding it.
kind of funny when you think about it. I mean vitamins and supplements? Who would have thought?
I get the battery spamming and even the clothing spamming. But these people aren't even posting real pharamceuticals or any of that other stuff. These supplements look like the sort of thing you would buy at the gas station or some other odd out of the way place.
I think their computer broke - they haven't posted anything for 16 mins!
When I first saw this company's name, I thought of the I Love Lucy episode "Vitameatavegamin girl"
@theoneill555: woo hoo let's party!!!!!
@hobbit: I typed too soon. Their baaaaaaaaack.
@mtrlgrl: +1 for "Vitameatavegamin girl"
I don't know anything about programming websites or coding but isn't there some way to just block a user? Is there some program similar to the blocking of email that can be used?
I think they have to like log out even after woot changes their password or something.
... I'm also wondering where the pew-pew-pew gun is...? Hopefully Woot is able to do something a bit more drastic than the simple changing of passwords to block or limit this nonsense. This is getting obnoxious, even if we're lucky enough to enjoy the blessing of collapsing deals. As to the nature of this intrusion, it's oddly reminiscent of the controversial Shewee incident and ensuing conversations back before @catberthegreat left our ranks :)

LOLing at the Lucy reference. Was wasting some time this morning watching Lucy & Ethel invading Hollywood :)
These people have nine pages of deals posted just this morning. All of the reviews seem to tell the same tale of extremely slow delivery and ship date lies, horrible customer service and chronic "in stock" items that are really out-of-stock.
Deals Staff says policing sellers is a community gig. Just how many points of reference from the community does it take before Staff decides on a vendor's trustworthiness? (Edit: I Hit submit before I was ready) I would hate to have Deals rep tarnished due to sellers like this.
I especially thought the Penis pump was hilarious!
I've tattled on a few of these deals. But they just keep piling up. I mean seriously... penis pumps and snake oil? If I wanted to read that crap, I'd turn the filters off on my email.
@eneref: Seriously... that's why I killed a couple of my e-mail accounts a while back, especially the hotmail ones, since their filtering doesn't do quite as well as the gmail filters for me.
add some of those deals with this deal and you have a ready set club!
whispers I think it is gone.
@hobbit: I hope you were crossing your fingers, while you were whispering.
@theoneill555: maybe.
Now if the counterfeiters would just go away!
@hobbit: I have been tattling on the shoes, but they just keep making new accounts and re-posting
This may sound a bit extreme, but if Woot has the power to track the IP addresses from which those bogus accounts are created, they could maybe block them entirely? I mean, that wouldn't necessarily work if our happy-spammy counterfeiters were particularly adept in net usage, but it may be worth a shot...
I promise I'm not a big advocate of "Big Brother" watching over all of us and controlling everything, but from everything I've seen, Woot staff has always been good to us if we've voiced any legitimate concerns. They even let us post such odd items as the... *#&%^@! for males, or the @$#)@! for females... Just not 50+ such items within an hour.
@theoneill555: I know so do I
@arosiriak: you would think.....although they do have a few legit vendors who are IN china so maybe they can't.
@hobbit: There are plenty of legitimate vendors/retailers in China, I'm sure, but doubtless there are also innumerable IP addresses... However, there is a chance that within the same vicinity there are some reasonable, English-capable Wooters. It's just a thought, but it does seem a bit drastic - hence my asking and not suggesting we brute-force China out, like Google did :)
What about that guy who keeps putting up women's undergarment ads every day? Why do we need a picture of the model on WOOT? My kids surf this site for deals too! Don't yours?
Then when someone questioned him, he went ballistic and started fighting with everyone. It got all ugly.
Can't folks like that be banned? Can't we have some sort of code of conduct here?
@bwagner54: Uh... sorry, but I don't find underwear ads to be offensive. And seriously, if you let your kids surf the 'net unsupervised and are worried about underwear models, you need some serious soul-searching.
Just block images from the offending website in your browser settings (you DO know how to use browser controls to monitor your childrens' usage on the 'net, right? Right??) and be done with it.
Learn HOW to use the Internet before you complain that it's not tailored to suit only you.
@arosiriak: I'm of the opinion that if someone is obviously spamming, locking their accounts out is hardly a bad idea. Give someone a warning if you have to, but they should get ONE. Not one... and then another... and another. Comment spamming is pretty prevalent on the 'net, and there are many tools to take care of it, but nothing's as effective as just a human hitting a delete button.
However, after hitting that delete button 30 times, you begin to wonder if there aren't easier ways to go about it.
@eneref: If you read @bwagner54's comments carefully, he's complaining not so much about "The Internet", but about how user content is handled on a specific shopping site (you may have heard of it); and specifically, the content from a particular user who, when the frequency and content of his postings came up for discussion, became belligerent.
