Maine has some nice spots. especially in the summer when it's warm :)

I agree with you - especially in Acadia National - Bar Harbor area. Clean fresh air, the waves crashing on the rocks, the water freezing your a&* off too.

If you do happen to be near Maine, don't forget Baxter State Park. Mountains, lakes, rivers, creeks, lots of moose. Bliss.

I kind of think that it depends on what you want to do when you are camping. I like state parks because they tend to be cheaper but they are also feeling the budget pinch and have cut back on programs. If you go to a KOA or a similar camp ground, you pay more, but you get more. I really want to camp at Luray Caverns but it's not in the cards this year. Maybe next year.
