Does anyone know of a converter box that will work with a cable signal (not antenna)?

I'm looking for a digital converter box that will accept a cable signal ... not a cable from an OTA antenna.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Contact your cable company... If it's like Comcast, your cable company might encrypt the signal so only their boxes can view the channels.

If I were in your position I would call your cable company and nicely ask if they could give you a converter box.

If they try to sell it to you, politely decline, call back a day later and complain about their service and threaten to cancel your subscription.

They will send you a converter box in the mail promptly.
