The best way? I suppose posting the question here is the best way to get it exposed. I suggest calling in a few people that matter though.

@shawnmiller, @josefresno, @snapster, @thunderthighs

This has come up periodically and a few months back for a few hours there was a different comment editing system up. I for one liked it, though it still had rough edges.

I believe @shawnmiller is the main person dealing with this issue.

So, @shawnmiller, what happened with that new comment system? Any chance of ever seeing it here for real? (I'm usually very careful to not lose comments, but every so often it still happens and is always annoying when it does.)

You missed the accidental test of the modified pop-up comment box. It was beautiful and it allowed you to see all the comments/answers made previously without blocking. Shawnmiller said they were still working on various improvements and that they weren't quite ready to roll it out (that was a couple of months ago).

@capguncowboy: Actually, one of those people shouldn't have been on your notification list. Even though ThunderThighs is enormously helpful, she's not involved in the day to day operations (she has a different day job, as I recall). @inkycatz is often helpful, and has the ear of the developers. I know she does, because she ordered up a sharp knife some time ago. She probably has them in a nice row, on her wall, as a reminder that she is "She Who Must Be Obeyed" (and 10 internets to the first person that comes up with the reference).

For fun, you can also name @dave bug who seldom responds, but is in charge of the team. You could also invoke @mattschuette, who is another member of the team.

Okay, enough core dump for now.

@shrdlu: I've always thought that they should just give you a staff badge. Or at least change your triangle to a diamond. I have doubts that there are many (including staff) that know the things that you know about this site. You are my hero.

My granddad used to refer to my grandmother as "she who must be obeyed".
It's probably from an older book or movie. He loved to read.

@capguncowboy: I was almost out the door when I got this in an email, and had to come back.

H. Rider Haggard's novel calls her She-who-must-be-obeyed, or simply, "She."

The funnier reference, of course, is from Rumpole of the Bailey (books that were the later foundation for the British TV series).

I would think it inadvisable for me to work for Woot in any capacity. I prefer the friendly adversary position.

Also it drives my crazy when you accidentally click out side the comment box and it closes taking my almost finished comment with it. Maybe this is what you were already talking about.
