Is the iPhone 5 going to have 4G on AT&T?
I've heard that the new iPhone won't use 4G. Is that true?
Also, when I'm due for an upgrade in October, should I go with the iPhone 5 (which I'm assuming will be out by then) or do I want a phone with 4G? Assuming I keep this new phone for 2 years, I don't want to get left behind on 3G. I am an AT&T customer in DC with unlimited data, if that makes a difference. Please advise.
NOTE - it's a work phone so I can't switch to Verizon
Yes. The iPhone 5 will be 4G across the board from everything I have been reading.
@wickedd365: Strange, from everything I have read the iPhone 5 will NOT be 4G capable, not even HSPA+.
The rumors do have a October/November timeframe for the release of the iPhone 5 though.
Not likely. AT&T and Verizon won't be able to handle it.
AT&T does not have 4G, it's a marketing gimmick.
I can get speeds of 3Mbps on AT&T with the iPhone 4, that's about all you can get when it comes to the Death Star.
They are testing them now.
