how does woot select their sponsored deal vendors?
I'm curious, since we recently had the gearxs counterfeit angry brids hats, and I thought deals.woot had a policy against obviously counterfeit items being posted. Just because they renamed them "angry kritters" doesn't make them legit. Now there's a sponsored deal from a vendor who also sells magnetic bracelets and "Electromagnetic Chaos Eliminator". I mean seriously, does anyone on woot staff believe for one second a vendor that sells Electromagnetic Chaos Eliminators is trustworthy or ethical?

They get the money, check to see if they are really really bad, and cash the check.
so "really bad" doesn't cut it, huh? they have to be "really really bad"?
I for one think they do a reasonable job vetting sponsors. For all the nitpicking one could do...You don't see fake rolexes, 'imported' viagra, get rich quick schemes, payday loans, 'male enhancement' pills, and the usual roster of bullsnot from the web round here. So yeah, magnetic 'wonder' bracelets may not be your cup of tea, but I don't think a site that sells them is automatically a bunch of con-artists.
@kcjones99: Vetting the vendors is why I went hunting down this question. Are you certain that there is a vetting process? I ask because I've seen some oddly named vendors on the Sponsored Deals, and think, "Though the item looks good, I wonder how the vendor is."
I'd be interested to hear from woot! staff on this one, either confirming or denying that vetting takes place (details, of course, may be trade secrets; the leaking of which may be punishable by death or worse).
