Loop with 3.5mm plug?
Today, I noticed that some styli, like http://www.amazon.com/elago-Mini-Stylus-iPhone4-Touch/dp/tech-data/B003Z8S3Y4/ and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BUI76S/ref=pd_luc_sim_01_03, have what appear to be strings connecting a plug for a 3.5mm jack.
Is there a common term for this? Is an item available with just the plug and string (with or without a split ring)?
My Blackberry Storm and at least one PDA have 3.5mm headphone jacks but no convenient string loops, it'd be handy to attach something.
I'd avoid that design. The stress of it looks like a good way to break the jack. Couldn't you just get a protective case for your devices? If they don't have a loop you could just poke two small holes in it and you're good to go. Then the stress will only risk a disposable case rather than the device itself.
Just to answer my question...
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.51582 for $1.20 shipped, provide your own string/loop.
