You mean on your Red Chevron? That is because you haven't bought anything from woot.com, shirt.woot.com, wine.woot.com or kids.woot.com I automatically have a 1 because I have bought items from there in the past. You might want to think about the items you are posting and the frequency you are posting them. Maybe try posting ONE or TWO items a day instead of NINE in an hour.

@poolcenter: Dear poolcenter,

The number to the left of your item post or comment or question has nothing to do with rep. It has to do with votes. The only way for you not to have the votes start at 0 is to buy something from one of the main woot sites as @hobbit advised.

@thefenst: Actually, that someone who has basically posted pointless deal after pointless deal has a reputation of 76/100 instead of 2/100 shows that the algorithm is still faulty. Anything above fifty should have some MEANING, beyond the mere fact that the person joined up, and posted deals, and made random comments ON HIS OWN DEALS.

Sorry, shrdlu is cranky. Poolcenter is not my favorite. At all.

@shrdlu: Actually you have nothing to apologize for, according to my counting @poolcenter has posted approximately 20 deals withing an 8 hour period from the same site, the majority of that within a 2 hour period.

@poolcenter: Be oh so very careful in your challenges. Your deals mostly have the votes they deserve. It has NOTHING to do with whether or not the value is good, and everything to do with whether it's useful to anyone here, in the online world.

You operate from a PO BOX. It's a hosted website, hanging off an Earthlink server, and ... Feh, this is pointless. It's like talking to jello.

The fact that you have reputation points is an excellent way to point out just how broken the Reputation system is here. You have posted deals (most of which have received ZERO votes), made comments on them, and are now over here, attempting to justify yourself to a group of people who can easily see that you provide no value add to Deals, and are frankly on the verge of annoying me.

I won't post further in the thread. Do not attempt to engage me elsewhere.

@poolcenter: Being correct in your posting isn't the issue. No one has voted for ANY of your deals that should let you know that right now none of us are interested in them. Thos of us who have been member of Woot for a long time are a very advanced eCommerce savvy group of people. I believe we might be off-put because you are posting so many so quickly. I would just beg you to not post so frequently and perhaps you will see better results. Just my .02, also as a home owner I am probably not going to be buy many pool products online, perhaps those hard to find accessories that I can't live with out, but not an actual pool - I will want to see it, touch it and get my engineers to measure it for me.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
