Can you guess how we found my missing earring?
A few days ago I accused my cat of being a thief here.
After days of searching for the missing earring and following Camry around to no avail, the missing earring mysteriously showed up, three rooms and about 50' away!
I was taking a nap in my room this afternoon, when one of the critters pushed open my bedroom door. It wasn't closed tightly, so I wasn't surprised when it woke me, just went back to sleep. Whichever pet entered the room left soon after, without closing the door (gotta teach 'em to do that). A few minutes later, DD noticed something shiny on the floor of the breakfast room and discovered my missing earring lying there. I had just vacuumed there this morning and the earring was not there then!
Did Camry return my jewelry in a fit of guilt?
Did the border collie or shih tzu do it to implicate the cat?
Who returned it?
Where is the stash?
Should I lock up all my valuables?
It's a ploy to get more treats. Create a situation then resolve the situation to gain the reward.
@rlapid2112: I suspect it wasn't guilt that made the kitty return the jewelry. I suspect that the kitty is just playing with @belyndag's MIND!
Great "Tales o' the Critter"!
So, yes you have an animal thief and they have guilt!
I suspect your cat reads Woot and knew that you were on to him/her.
@blgauthier: Definitely! That sounds like something my cats would do just to screw with me ;)
Are you sure you don't have a pet bird somewhere in the house? They are known for making off with shiny objects.
When small things disappear around here, we have wait for the dog to deposit it in the back yard.
The feline psyops campaign continues...
@jsimsace: We've been quizzing her, but she's not talking. Just stares at us haughtily! (Is that a word?)
Sure you don't have a ghost or two? ;)
So the "cat burglar" returned to the scene of the crime? I'd quiz Camry some more.
@lavikinga: Right now we have three ghosts and all of them have black and white fur.
