Nothing. I used to do the trees, but I'd leave the plastic bag on per the instructions, uncovering one notch per week. Passengers would invariably rip off the bag, then criticize the overwhelming scent... I gave up the trees rather than my company.

It was a woot monkey(with red/white/blue cape), but it was too distracting, so now nothing on the rear-view mirror, but woot monkey hangs off of the padded grip bar above the glove compartment.

hubby got a ticket for obstructed vision so there is nothing there now, but it use to be an ornament i made for him before we were an us.

brother got mad because he got an obstructed vision ticket for the disability placard hanging on his window. (i would like to point out that the top line reads "remove from window before driving vehicle")

I have some of the little flowers you get from Veterans when you make a donation (usually from outside the grocery stores). I worked a driving job for a while that sent me to 14 different Stop and Shop stores in several counties. (way too much driving!). One week, every store I went to that had a veteran standing outside looking for donations, I donated too. I still have three on top of my rearview mirror. I also used to have mardi-gras beads, but they were way to distracting. Now, I have them around the head-rests on my front seats. It works :)

Back before I sold my car, I used to drive around with a massive Japanese paper lantern that was battery powered, hanging from my mirror. Took up a good amount of space.
It took three cops for one to finally be pissed more than entertained to write me a ticket.

"Boy, what the hell is that thing?!"

@baybei: Those are poppies and I'm sure it was around Memorial Day.

A purple wooy screaming monkey key chain. (The typo is on the monkey, not in this post.)

The monkey's feet are tied to a cord so the monkey hangs upside down and below my line of vision.

I also have a white cockatoo feather from Bob, a friend's bird, who gave it to me for luck, though it is now stuck in the edge of the air vent, under the mirror, pointing straight up.

My dog tags from my stint in the Marines....

@pooflady: Yes! That's them! And, I'm sure it was around Memorial Day, because I had gone to 6 stores that had them within a two day period. Thanks for the info, I actually couldn't remember what the flowers were called.

A leather and bead thing one of my daughters made for me.

Nothing on mine now. Used to have a lanyard with work ID on it so I wouldn't forget it each morning, but now I'm RETIRED!!!

@tarasadies: My SSN is on my dog tags, I just can't leave that kind of info where anyone can see it.

Absolutely nothing. I'm kinda boring like that :/

vote-for4vote-against

Absolutely nothing because the cops around here will pull you over & ticket you for having an obstructed view.

@moosezilla: you're an us now?

sorry

don't hit me

To the point, I have my HS graduation tassle, a garter, some mardi gras beads, a crystal, a dream catcher, and a playboy bunny air freshener.

Nothing. I hate seeing cars with (around here) 70 strands of Mardi Gras beads hanging from them, or the CDs that the sun hits and reflects into your eyes.

I also started noticing the number of cars with a bunch of crap hanging from the mirror and how damaged the vehicles were. I think there's a connection...

My parking tag for work. It's not visible from the inside of the car. I can't stand to have something hanging down from the mirror, especially something that swings around. My best friend has a Terminator skull that used to be on a keychain hanging from his mirror.

vanillaroma tree & my badge.

vote-for2vote-against

Nothing. I don't like things obstructing my vision. I keep my badge in my console.
My fiance keeps a little handmade necklace with a heart on it that I got her while we were in Africa.

Mine hang from my GPS. A celtic cross and a metal sunburst with hanging stars and moons and stuff.

You're welcome. Is that what you actually look like? ;)
