Would you want to travel on the maiden voyage of Titanic II - a modern replica of the original boat?
An Australian billionaire is planning on building a modern replica of the Titanic and wants to sail it from England to New York, selling tickets to passengers who will be provided with period clothing to wear on board.
He is refraining from calling the boat "unsinkable" and will include many additional safety features not found on the original boat.

Personally, it seems like hubris on the part of the billionaire and a bad idea to me - I don't think I would want to partake even if it wasn't ridiculously expensive as I imagine it will be.
Would you buy a ticket? Would you go if you won a free pass?
-=C=-
Would I buy a ticket? No. Would I go if I won a free pass? Hells to the yeah!
Only if I can do a jig in the lowest class levels.
Of course (the free one as I am sure that it is priced out of my range for the maiden voyage). I cannot fathom why you would not.
As @jsimsace said, I wouldn't buy a ticket. Doubt that I could afford it. Would I sail on a free pass? Oh, yes!
Would prefer not to be in steerage, but would still enjoy it immensely. Just call me the "Unsinkable gmwhit." Now where's that beautiful sapphire pendant? ...wanna wear that!
@gmwhit: Maybe the free pass would be a trip for two and we could share a cabin......? Separate bunks, of course. ;)
@jsimsace: Nothing personal; no offense. I would prefer a separate cabin. And since the owner wants to sail in steerage, I would like the owner's suite. She said, 'suitely. (sic intentional)
The mere fact that Titanic II is being made in China is enough to scare me away from it.
@lparsons42: Okay! If you somehow received a free pass, may I have it? Please? Made in China is not always bad. And where was the original Titantic built? <---rhetorical question
I'll take my chances as long as it isn't owned by Carnival.
Free ticket ? I'm there. I'll do a jig -- but in the nice part please. A nice suite of rooms w/ a maid or two. Gourmet meals w/ expensive wine. Oh, and music ! Wonderful music.
Maybe I'll have a Wootopoly tournament !
Who wants to sip champagne and play Wootopoly on the first class deck with me ?
An aside (perhaps irrelevant): My late husband won a 7 day cruise for 2 on Norwegian. Trust me, if you could get a free ticket...it would be worth it. That cruise was wonderful. Our 2nd...many followed. Prefer Princess, but any cruise line (free!) is wonderful. And yes, the 'free' (absolutely NO cost) thing does happen. :-D
