No, I'm very allergic to them. But they all seem to love me. So, I've decided they're all really just passive aggressive jerks. Because they know I'm allergic to them. And they won't leave me alone. I don't sound crazy do I?

I have two cats - Itchy is an 8 year old female tabby cat and Snowball II is my 5 month old black kitten. He's in spoiled brat mode so I'm about to ruin his parade and get him neutered. Of course I was going to get him fixed anyway. Oh yeah, I'm a big Simpsons fan if the names seem weird.

vote-for11vote-against

@zuiquan: Give them the stare down. That'll make them leave you alone, if you don't stare at them and look at them they think you're friendly.

I'm serious.

...And where are the cat pictures? This is the internet after all.

vote-for6vote-against

@kmashaney: I love the Simpsons (at least the earlier ones). Do you actually call him Snowball II?

@zuiquan Yeah, I think I read that if you ignore them, they don't feel threatened and they will be all over you. If you make eye contact it'll make them uncomfortable and they'll leave you alone. (I'm also somewhat allergic, but I'm such a crazy cat lady I'm willing to put up with the not breathing.)

We have 4 cats. Two of them are indoor and my wife and I have had them since we were dating. They're declawed on the front and back. They don't like me or my children despite my attempts to go out of my way to make their lives more enjoyable. They're fickle like that. They also sit outside our dog's kennel at night and drive her insane. They mostly live under our bed, coming out at night to eat/poop and make a mess of anything they can. Our brown tabby is overweight and snores when he sleeps.

The other two are outdoor and sleep in the garage at night (Our indoor cats are older and we didn't want them to start trying to mark their territory inside the house because of new kitties) and are only a few months old. They actually like our children a lot and actually come when you call for them. They'll more than likely be my favorites eventually.

I have India. She's a 10 year old bengal. She's a bit of a jerk, always knocking things from shelves and attacking my toes just as I get settled in bed, but I still love her dearly. I don't have a photo handy, I'll try to hunt one down later today.

I have one Siamese cat, named Jasmine. She is getting pretty elderly, I would guess maybe 12 or 13. She is on her fourth life, and more widely traveled than most cats. My stepdad. a long haul truck driver, found her begging in the snow in a supermarket parking lot in the midwest and tossed her in the truck and took her to their east Texas ranch. When they got divorced and gave up the ranch I brought her to my west Texas home. Given her excellent manners, she was obviously a pet in her early life. So she has been a pet, a stray, a farm cat, and now she is in charge of indoor and outdoor pest control at my house.

@curli76: yes! at first it was hard adding the "two" part, but over time it began to stick. That could be because I talk to my cats too...sometimes I like to call him SBII for short because it reminds me of RGIII (QB for the Redskins) Here are my babies:

He always looks like he's up to something...

Here are my indoor cats when they were much more curious about the world (and much less evil):

@kmashaney: Then you'll love this one:

She really is a cute cat, even now that she hates me. Her fur is the softest cat fur I've ever felt. I tell my wife all the time that when she (the cat, not my wife) dies I'm going to make a hat out of her fur.

@kmashaney: an attractive woman just posted a self-photo in an internet forum full of geeks? WITH cats? it's a good thing private messages aren't easily achieved 'round here.

I have 4 that came with my girlfriend when she moved in. Although 3 of them she acquired when we were dating. Her first was Verb because he was a very active kitten. He was rescued from the parking lot of her apartment complex. Then came Atlas and Raiden who were adopted at an adoption event when buying cat food. Atlas liked to climb up on my shoulders so he was named after the god with the world on his shoulders and his brother purrs so loudly he was named after a thunder god. Then there was a kitten we found in a storm drain at the same complex Verb came from. Since there was a good chance they were related she was named Noun.

I think you're all familiar with the Intern by now (this is what she prefers to be known as around here). She will be two years old next week! :)

She is also my woot cat, as I got her a few days before I started working here.

I have a "small" dog (she weighs 105#), so no (real) cats in my house.

I probably have at least 30 different cat shirts - most are from Woot, but some are from Threadless, GoodJoe, TeeTurtle and DBH too.

@narfcake: My small dog weighs 140lbs. But he gets along very well with the cat, largely because the cat respects his position as alpha pet. He's been taught to treat her with respect as well, and he adheres to that even when they are alone together.

I've got two black and white cats. About 10 years old. Brothers from the same litter. Doc is the smaller one, weighing about 9 lbs. Iggy is the bigger guy, weighing about 18. They both eat about the same amount of food, Doc is just much more active than Ig.
I think they've forgiven me for being gone for about 10 days over Christmas. They both slept with me the last two nights and have done an excellent job of keeping my feet warm.

Have an orange tabby named JJ. At 8:30 every nite he taps hubby on shoulder to let him know it's time for feeding and bed. If hubby is slow to move he climbs on back of my pillow, puts paws on either side of my head, pulls my head back and bites (gently) my nose.

vote-for6vote-against

Yes, I have one cat which is constantly plotting to kill me.

vote-for12vote-against

Yep, I have three. Two brothers, Malachi and Tevildo, that I found as bloody newborns in a trashcan outside my apartment in Cairo (someone had very clearly thrown them away and tried to cover them in trashbags; there was no way that a cat could have gotten into that bin and given birth). There were actually four in the litter, but two died because I am not a vet and it was hard to get/make kitten formula and get good care in a developing country that mostly sees cats as rats. The vet refused to give them deworming meds because they were "too young," even though my vet uncle insisted it was fine.
My third, Tigoon, is also a rescue. She was found outside in a Chicago February snow. She was half-starved, a runt, with a prolapsed rectum, and fiercely protecting her even runtier little sister. The family who found the kittens took the sister and I claimed my now-Tigoon.

You guys are making me sad that my hubs is allergic to kitties. But we have puppehs, so I'll live with visiting other people's kitties.

Sammy is on the right and Diva the left:

Sammy is a ~14lb male and Diva is an ~8lb female. Both were rescues and it was totally a coincidence that they look alike (they are unrelated). Sammy is about 3-1/2 years old in these pictures and about 10 months older than Diva.

A better picture of Sammy's face:

Cooper can represent for the family; he's the vainest about his looks. We have four, Cooper is number 3, we got him at 10 weeks old from a rescue group to keep up with our Maine Coon (SPCA rescue with another cat, #4 just showed up + started talking to Cooper, who was sitting in a window) when the orange cat who raised her died. We explained that we needed a cat who could play with a large, playful 3 year old. Cooper had been wearing out the other kittens so they suggested him. I think he might still be growing.

This is Agent Smith, or Snookie to his friends. Which currently are just me: my fiancee hasn't been around so he has forgotten about her. He hides from everybody else other than his family: a bit of a fraidy cat. This is several years old, but this is how he looks now that his hair is long:

He needs a haircut soon. This is how he looked as a kitten

Arwen (left) and Strider (right). Arwen was crying outside our first-floor apartment window one day. I brought her into the building because it seemed like she might live there and walked with her past every door in the building, thinking she would pick a door. When we got back down to our apartment, I opened the door and she walked in like she owned the place. After a week of putting up "found" fliers with no responses, she was ours. Strider was adopted as a kitten from a local shelter. Arwen just hated Strider when we first got him, but as you can see now they're buddies.

I have 4 kitties; all indoor cats. The last two were an accident --- I saw a litter of kittens and I just couldn't help myself & brought two of them home. That was 5 years ago and I haven't been near a litter since.

We have one cat, Camry, who my fellow Wootizens helped me name,, helped me keep out of the Christmas tree, helped me gift at Christmas, helped me identify as a thief, and helped me guilt into returning the stolen item. And I've only had her since June!
