How do you sort products?
I especially notice this time of year when I search/browse more websites more than usual. The default sort order for products is generally either "Best Seller" or "Our Picks", to which I immediately re-sort to "Price: lowest to highest".
How about you? Do you have a sort order you always use? Do you just browse using whatever default one the site gives you? Do you know anyone that actually sorts by "Price: Highest to Lowest"? :-)
I almost always sort Price: Lowest to Highest.
If I'm looking for something specific and know the site won't have multiple of the same type of specific product I'm looking for, sometimes I'll sort by name (if they have that option). I have sorted Price: Highest to Lowest if I'm looking for something specific and I know it's on the high end of the items the store sells.
I also do low to high, unless I'm looking for something in particular.
Price:Lowest to highest or Rating: Highest to Lowest.
Depends on what I'm looking for. But I usually prefer the Rating: Highest to Lowest. If I'm using the rating, I also make sure the items have many ratings, not just one or two.
Amazon has an option to sort by Average Customer Review. If I'm searching for something with which I have no experience, I'll usually use that option first. Once you sort by average review, there are filters on the left for various price points as well as shipping options, brand, seller, etc.
I sometimes use the highest to lowest sort, usually to get an idea of what features are available in high-end products so I can make a better decision about what I'm willing to live without if I buy from the low end.
First by color, then by size. Alphabetically for things non-colorful.
I sort my M&Ms by color, then start analyzing the relative amounts of each color statistically.
Wait....maybe I should actually read the question.
If available, it's "Most Reviews"
Then "Highest Rating"
Then "Price Low to High"
Otherwise, kill them all, let God sort them out.

wait, what were we talking about?
I rarely use the default option and often sort "Highest To Lowest". It's part of being a "brand snob".

J/K If I was really that way why would I be here?
