What was the coolest thing you ever got in a BOC?
I've won a handful of BOCs over the years and just got one recently. What's the coolest thing you've scored? I think for me it'd be a solar bluetooth handsfree set. Today's box ... ehh ... not so interesting ...
Lock-n-Lock Tupperware in my last BOC. I also got a flashlight that woot was later selling for 25 dollars I think. Nothing truly amazing but I answered your question :P Oh yeah and a few woot monkeys, those are always cool!
Probably these headphones http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PC-350-Collapsible-Microphone/dp/B0012XFDWO
Since I've only received one BOC in my 7 years of trying, I guess the best thing I got was the bag. Seriously. It was truly crap back in the day when I got mine. Now get off my lawn!
If I got anything that expensive, I'd immediately re-sell it to make a quick profit.
As for me, as I've only received one BOC, the best thing I got was a bunch of shirts that don't fit me :(
lol I've gotten several BOCs but none of 'em have really had anything that would qualify as "cool.."
I got a washcloth with some bugs on it.. that was kind of neat :)
Heh.. here's my last BOC:
1 x random electronic device case
1 x PLAIN shirt
and 1x little stuffed cow :D
I've actually gotten the EXACT same bag 3 different times from from 3 separate BOCs heh - just bad luck I guess
a used toothbrush.
I got a
, a South Park key chain, and a
in my first bag of crap a few years ago.
Those were good times.
Well, the last woot-offs (Aprils) was by far the best so far. I got a DVD player for the car (with two screens!) and a Tron fathead.
I couldn't have asked for more. :')
Plus the other items I got were much more useful this time around from what I had on my first bag, which I gave away mostly. On this bag however, I kept it all except for a kids shirt which included batteries, XL shirts, and a bag.
The texas air.. I've kept them too. I'd say it's perfect to wake someone or myself up when I need to or I could use it to ship things.. nah, more than likely I'm gonna run out of bubbles when I need to send something.
A couple years ago I got a GE DECT 6.0 phone set that used bluetooth to connect your cell phone to two regular handsets that you could station in other rooms to make your cell phone like a house phone. It was in a destroyed box and had a note that said it wasn't working on it, but I didn't have any trouble getting it to work. Other bags since then have been crappier.
The coolest item I ever got in a BOC was... oh wait.
I've never won a BOC.
AAAAUUUUURRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
My life is empty and meaningless.
@thetexastwister: That sucks
The one BOC I got had some rather random stuff in it (as it should be)
A 3-pack of mini aqua globes (the peppers appreciate them)
A little tote-bag that folds into itself, and looks like a strawberry (super random)
A 3-D camera (not digital or anything, a 35mm 3-D camera [like, with 4 separate lenses and everything]) it's neat, but to get the pictures developed (in 3-D!) I'd need to find somewhere that processes them that way (so far, I've found a place in Canada, but that's be a bit of a drive from California)
I want to say something else was in there, but I can't remember for the life of me.
I just got a Polk Audio Wireless Subwoofer Which should go well with my Soundbar. So I'm excited about that.
I've never gotten one. Not through a lack of trying though. :(
@jseureau: Thanks. sniff your sympathy makes my life slightly less empty and meaningless.
Having only gotten one so far, I guess the 4GB Sansa Clip I got in the April 2012 BOC.
As I have a 2nd generation Zune that is alive and kicking, I have already found a home for the Sansa Clip -- will make a nice Mother's Day present for my girlfriend's mother.
I too have only gotten one and it had a set of the PhoenixGold indoor/outdoor speakers in it, so that was pretty cool. I will be installing them around the deck this weekend.
A broken hard drive. It provided hours of fun trying to get it to work.
I got an off brand DVD player in my first or second BOC. I sold it on eBay for $20. In the BOC I just got, I got a leather wallet for a Kindle (gift for MIL), a 3XL plain blue t-shirt (gift for my brother), a horrible flowered tote bag, whiskey stones, and an S&M cow (as best as I can tell). Here's the cow I got. http://www.cellinifinegifts.com/cowparade_9146.htm
refurbished 4 handset cordless phone set with digital answering machine base.
Fully functioning still 6months later. it was timely because a couple of our handsets on other system had failing displays.
Colonel Crap's dry socks!!!! FTW!!!

The Winnie the Pooh toothbrush set that played music when motion activated.
I read about it happening on the BOC thread and my UPS man confirmed it. It drove him crazy! I gave those away as tiny tots birthday gifts.
I also really liked the external dvd writer. Some got the writer and some got the cords. I swapped some baseball stuff for the cords and got a working unit!
Fellow wooters are awesome.
And, don't laugh, but I really liked the Flush Lite! It broke after a year. sad face
Most of my stuff has been fairly "crappy", but the grilling planks I got in my first BOC were great. I did get several other weird things that worked perfectly as gifts for weird people I know, but I don't recall what they were...
The only thing I ever got remotely useful or cool in my 5 BOCs has been a pair of Leak Frogs.
Odd Job action figure. Still NiB.
@thetexastwister: It helps if you jack yourself up on caffeine for days on end and watch every moment of Woot! like your life depended on it.
You'll get one eventually =)
Best was probably the light up snowman that could be hooked to play music.
Of course, the woot sweatbands were just plain cool if entirely useless.
Mine was a brand new, in package Kingston Data Traveler 64Gig flashdrive. Definitely worth a pretty penny and has been a HUGE help in life.
a coworker of mine got a working Blu-Ray player without a box. she spent like $5 on a universal remote and was all set up.
My very first BOC had a Cuisinart blender and food processor in it, which was awesome because I didn't have one. I thought this was the coolest until it turned out to be defective.
In my first BOC, I got a Roomba. My 2nd BOC I got a surround sound system. Munkies are always a good thing to get too.
2 sets of bucky cubes was a pretty sweet haul.
12 copies of Fact vs. Crap
They have actually proven useful to give to the local rest homes (old people love 'em!)
I never got anything particularly cool in a BOC, but one time the bag itself was really cool. A bright red hiking backback that's served me well on road trips ever since.
@carl669: Jealous. That looks fantastic.
I've had 4 BOCs. I once received a men's Kenneth Cole Reaction watch that I sold on ebay for about $50 or $60 at a time when I really needed the cash for something. At Christmas, we also really enjoy our light-up snowman/speaker thing.
Hopefully, one day I can say the vacuum, or the DVD player, or the food processor, or the pallet of whatchamahoozits. But for now, I'm just very grateful to have been part of 4 BOCs over the past few years.
@luvche21: it is. except, it was used and the box didn't have a charger. as i found out, chargers for these things are pricey! anywhere from $40-90. but, it was far too much fun to give away.
Officially, I've never gotten one, but I did just receive what could probably count as an unofficial one from one awesome @gideonfrost:
Woot! calender
Slinky (2nd favorite)
Sudoku book
Ice cream cone water gun
Beach ball
Spider-man pumpkin fishing game
and Dr. Seuss One fish two fish red fish blue fish (favorite - love Dr. Seuss)!
I don't think I've ever been this giddy about a package. Was expecting the calendar, the rest was a very exciting surprise. Thanks @gideonfrost! You're awesome!
@carl669: Wow, that is pricey just for the charger! I've been dying to get me a remote control car someday. Woot keeps tempting me with all of their little toys!
I have gotten a few BOC with most of them being just crap (esp in the window between TPW and the Colonel). The best item has been a 2 handset Panasonic cordless phone with Bluetooth to connect your cell phones to it and use the home phone handset. I also received the light up snowman speaker which is pretty cool around the holidays.
@eijisama: I'm glad you enjoyed it. @cowboydann and I were talking about it and he mentioned that it's flat rate shipping for the boxes. If it fits it ships so I decided to include some other random stuff. So much that in the end I actually had to go up a box size...oops.
I also did a bit of cyber stalking on deals.woot and saw your Dr Seuss question. That's my favorite of the Dr seuss book so I included it as well. I hope you didn't already have that one.
@gideonfrost: I've never been so glad to be stalked. And nope, didn't have that one yet.
The grinch pelt purse from a few years ago was awesome.
