questions18/10 flatware - anyone know of a deal / what's…

Keep looking and be patient. Something similar will come up (either on Woot or somewhere posted here). You are educated and know you want 18/10. There are plenty of flatwear deals on 18/0 and other junk: there aren't nearly as many deals on the stuff you really want.

If you can, get a 12 place setting. I don't know what happens to flatwear, but there is some kind of crazy evaporation going on: over stuff disappears from the drawer. Get more than you need.

Costco has a very good price for a 46-piece, 8 place setting, Reed and Barton McKenna 18/10 flatware set at $74.99.

Just got this from my wedding registry:

Looks great and it has a great weight in your hand. I love them.

@justagigilo85 That's the EXACT set we got for our wedding. I completely agree and would totally recommend this set.

We also went to Macy's and they had a ton of flatware on sale, so I would recommend checking them out. Good luck!

I'm looking for a set as well. And I've been kicking myself over that previous Woot deal too!

Keep in mind that 18/8 and 18/10 are actually the same thing. A small amount of deception/marketing done there.

@justagigilo85: Thansk for the tip. Not sold on that pattern though it's by no means ugly or anything. I may keep an eye out for one of those 20% coupons they always have out there and check them out in person.

On a random note... awwww someone took out my wootregret tag. Heh. It was my big woot regret! :)

@bingo969: I used to get them all the time.... now I only see $5 off ones. :-(

Get the 12 piece set. Take it from a senior citizen. For years we blamed our kids for throwing away pieces of silverware when they cleared their plates off the table. Unfortunately, the kids have been gone for years and we're still losing them occasionally.

@pooflady: Keep on blaming the kids -- all's fair in love and routine household loss.

@pooflady: I bought 2 sets when I purchased my last flatware 10 years ago. I figured that way I'd have replacement pieces when needed. I found that spare set when moving 2 years ago and was able to replenish my stock of spoons and forks. =D

Sometimes a piece will get lost but occasionally you will find an extra piece. Maybe it rematerialized from someone else's set. I just don't know where it came from. However, the company went out of business years ago so I need to buy a new set, or two, myself.
