Why is there almost no Aftermarket Volkswagen Logo products?
I'm confused by what you mean by that... When my brother owned a 64 superbeetle, he had all sorts of VW paraphernalia around, including VW hats, VW jacket, shirts, mugs, etc.
Edit: 30 seconds on google with search terms "VW hat" "VW shirt" "VW jacket" turned up tons of stuff... Ebay also has lots of stuff, VW forums would have stuff, local VW parts shops would have stuff as well.
Your local VW dealer has a full catalog you can look through. Plenty of others have VW logo stuff as well. While it isn't as pervasive as Apple or even Subaru stuff now, it's out there if you spend a good couple minutes or less looking for it.
@waltertangofoxtrot: I am aware that if you look on the internet you can find lots of VW marketed merchandise, and also find collectable and used genuine VW logo stuff. But I do not see much 3rd party knock off cheaply priced stuff like you see for other car makers like the US car makers, even Toyota and Scion, BMW and others have a big 3rd party aftermarket. It seems VW may sue or go after people that manufacture products with their Logos. The merchandise avalible from dealerships is very very costly.
Its a supply and demand thing. There's not much demand for VW stuff in the US, as its not really high on the automotive sales charts. Other than enthusiasts for the classic VW's, and a few people who don't mind paying an extra $10K for a car similar to the japanese, korean, or domestic models, no one buys VW's.
Toyota, ford, Chevy, Dodge, corner probably 80% of the market between them, and as such have tons of 3rd party vendors asking for licensing deals with them to slap their logo on random bits of clothing, and other merchandise. If VW ever came up with anything that could compete on the NASCAR circuit, that would be the day WalMart would start carrying pre-shreded VW Jeans Jackets, with built in bottle openers on the lapels, and "Larry the Cableguy" sleeveless flannel shirts bearing the VW logo.
I'm not saying NASCAR is a worthwhile sports venue for most modern cars, but its what the masses watch in this country... you might have luck importing VW swag from the Eurozone, where VW competes on road circuits, and rally courses more, but its not something you're going to find outside of a VW dealer, or a european import tuner shop, and all of that will likely be overpriced.
