The Wendy's near my job closed (apparently, six chain and another six or seven independant drugstores within 3/4 of a mile wasn't quite enough).

Now we have to schlep 15-20 minutes to get to the nearest Wendy's, so I wasn't even aware they had new burgers. Really a shame too, as Wendy's is so much better than McDonald's.

Mmmmmm, sounds tempting! That'll be one of the first places I hit up once I'm back stateside in February :D

@baqui63: i concur, the quality is better than McDonalds

@dmaz: Do it, you wont be disappointed :)

Good to hear. I have been wanting to try it, just wasn't sure. This feedback helps. I'll try it soon now.

Meh, the W is ok.

Whatever you do, avoid the "Chef's Choice Burger" at Burger King. Terrible!

vote-for5vote-against

Haven't tried it yet, sounds interesting.

Not bad. I like the new fries as well. Their spicy chicken is also good, far better than the chicken nugget version McDonalds has.

I enjoy all of the Wendy's burgers over the compareable other two burger places, but the W for me didn't hit the spot.

Dumping thousand island dressing on top of two beef patties does not a BigMac make...

I tried it and really liked it. I've found Wendy's burgers always have a fresher, more homemade taste. McDonalds seems to be working hard to squash Wendy's with all their Big Mac ads and promos.

@emerson42: Their Asiago Chicken Sandwich is frickin' delicious!

@mtrlgrl: I have noticed the ads too in full force

I thought it was disgusting! The worst burger I have ever had. I'd rather stay home and make my own before every buying another "W" ever again. I really think the quality of their food has gone down since Dave passed away...and don't get me started on their "breakfast". Both times I tried it, prompted calls of complaint to their head office. Just horrible.

okay, glad to get that off my chest...

@mrsque: I'd beg to differ. Maybe its your local store because I think the food has actually gotten better. Also, they are slated to overthrow Burger King as the #2 chain...

I've always enjoyed their food over all other chains, even after working for their company for years, though I wouldn't ever eat the W, because I'm not a fan of the sauce and I'm not really into veggies on my burgers. And honestly/seriously Wendy's is the only fast food place that doesn't make my fiancee almost immediately ill after eating there. So they'll always get points in my book.

I haven't tried the new "W" but Dave's new hot and juicy burgers are the shiznit!

I had the W last week, it was OK. I wasn't sure what I was really expecting as I am not a big fan of their burgers. Now, their spicy chicken sandwiches, well, that's where it's at.

I HATE the new pickles. Ruins the entire restaurant for me. I really don't like their sandwiches without pickles and now their pickles are awful. I'll miss the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger the most.

The Baconator does it for me every time.

I liked Wendy's more ever since I was a kid reading their faux-newspaper tables but I haven't been to one in forever. But I do remember the spicy chicken was the very best.

I always liked them before, like them more now. Unlike the poster above, I like the new pickles. Double, and a large frosty. Then an appointment with the interventional cardiologist for an angioplasty.

I like Wendy's. Hated the W. "Hated" may be too strong a word, but I won't try it again. I like the new pickles.

It wasn't bad as far as the low end fastfood chains go but it still isn't anywhere near as good as a Smashburger or Five guys kind of burger. And the way I look at it, if im going to eat food that is horrible for me i'd rather eat something that is a bit higher quality.

@matt1976: Viva la Baconator!

They're good, nothing overly amazing but good. As much as Wendy's has immproved recently, Burger King has gotten that much worse. I don't know what compelled them to change things the way they have but I basically never go there now.

All of the OP's replies sound like an employee.

Eh, was not impressed. But, that might be due to my close proximity to Five Guys! Pretty much beats any burger around here (Wendy's, BK, Steak N Shake, Checkers, McD's, etc)
