Is there such a thing as too many flashlights?
I see the moofi deal for the 12-pack of carabiner flashlights and it has me thinking...
I've purchased many, many LED flashlights over the last few years. I have one in the junk drawer in my kitchen. One on the counter at the other end of the kitchen. One in the bathroom. One on my nightstand. One next to the garage door. One in each of my toolboxes. One on my desk by the computer. One on the bar downstairs. One in the laundry room... etc.
When I first bought these things I thought to myself, "this is ridiculous. Nobody needs this many flashlights." Now I know that I was wrong. There's no such thing as too many flashlights.
So I guess the real question is, is there such a thing as ENOUGH flashlights?
No, you can never have too many. I've bought 4 in the last month... damn you SlickDeals. I recently learned about the Cree bulbs so now I'm replacing my flashlights with better technology.
Edit: I need "Flashlights Anonymous"....
I can never find them when I need one most(in the dark).
@wormburnr: You need to coat them in radioactive isotopes like I do. Eventually, you won't even need a flashlight, what with the glowing in the dark and all.
According to my BF, you could NEVER have too many. He's actually become somewhat of a flashlight snob. Oh well, we are prepared for an emergency!
The real question should be, have you ever needed a flashlight and not had one available?
If the answer is YES, than you need to buy more!
Yes, yes there is.
Until another one shows up on woot, that is. Then you buy more.
No! And there is no such thing as too many tape measures, hammers, utility knives, screwdrivers, etc.
No, I don't think so. If I am more than a few feet from a flashlight = problem.
@inkycatz: We have 2 in every room in the house, and in the vehicles, garage, travel trailer, and workshop. A spotlight is also in each vehicle and the travel trailer.
The only way to have to many, is to not have batteries for each. That, my friend, is a different problem.
My daughter is strongly opposed to me purchasing ANY additional flashlights, though she has stolen at least one. (She is, even as I type, claiming that I actually gave it to her.)
of course not. i've got a fleshlight in every room of the house. you never know when you might need to bust one out.
I'm addicted to flashlights, I admit it, but you can never have too many. I have at least two in my truck, one in my tool box, one in my tackle box, one for each rifle case, one on my bed stand, one under my bed, another in the kitchen and one in my office.
My biggest surprise is that it took three hours for someone to mention a fleshlight.
omg ponies I had no idea that deal was up on Moofi - flashed over there (pun intended) and ordered a pack. Excitement! Pretty colors! Carabiners! I have a coupon so they're free-free-free... what a great Christmas gift to myself, I must say.
@missellienc: I need to join FA too, I guess. Maybe. I tend to think I can quit anytime I want to, but I know all us flashlight addicts say that... le sigh
EDIT: There seem to be quite a few unfavorable reviews of these things, but I've bought other little gadgety versions of these inexpensive LED lights over the past year, and they've all worked fine for me. Guess I'm just lucky.
I just use the Flashlight app on my phone since I have that on me at all times. It's not super bright but it does the job.
Ohh and I own a 4D maglight for extended light needs but rarly.
While the lights are on: Yes
When the lights go out: No
Now I'm in the mood to buy flashlights and the deal appears to be gone. Flashlight fail.
It's called flashlight tag. Stock up.
You can have too many, if you don't have good batteries for any of them. A flashlight is only as good as it's power source; 12 flashlights with zero good batteries is less useful than one flashlight with good batteries.
So in other words, stock up on batteries (and if you are using rechargeable lights, check their charge) because you don't want to be caught with a useless flashlight when you really need one.
I don't have many handheld flashlights but I do have a fairly large collection of headlamps.
NO! There are never enough flashlights. I even have a couple different shake-to-charge LED flashlights.
feed my addiction!!!
Well I hada lot of flashlights then the LED's came out and had to upgrade :D
Having recently gone through a massive county-wide blackout, the answer is NO. Even if you have several around the house, think about how many of them are going to have low batteries by the time you go to use them. I was the only person I knew that was well-equipped with flashlights, candles, water, and propane during the blackout. Most of my neighbors were sitting around in the dark, or even wasting their car baterries using them for the lights and radio.
It's a guy thing. I want to feel like I have a bigger, brighter flashlight than the other guys on my street,I want them to have flashlight envy.I want one of my neighbors to say to another "Don't even try to have a better flashlight than he does,it's amazing". I always have my eye out for flashlight nirvana and I know it will be the next one I purchase!
If you have your house full of them like an episode of Hoarders, then yes.
I feel a household can never have too many flashlights. The best ones I bought off of Woot were the Stanley Tripod 3 in 1. I think it was a 2 for Tuesday and I bought 3 which equalled 6. Already 2 are missing and hubby gifted one to a mechanic friend after carrying on that we had too many flashlights. Well when the power went out a few times in the following months, he shut up real fast lol. Thankful for the generator we now have too but again, you can never have too many flashlight. If you think you bought too many, gift one to your Aunt Tillie or Millie. :)
No, there's no such thing as too many, and I Am Legend should have taught you that :P
