I would love to, but I don't get the science channel. I guess I'll have to find it online later.

It's in my DVR schedule.
Firefly is one of those shows that could easily be brought back and be popular. It'll be interesting to see this and see the reaction to it.

Thanks for the heads up, I had no idea

I heard a rumor that if this does well and gets good rating there may be a reboot of the series. So everyone that has science channel should watch it, even if you dont like firefly watch it for the rest of us!

If anyone finds a link for watching it online, let us know. I never watched "Firefly," also don't get the Science channel, but if watching it online would help the cause, I'm in. Nerds unite!

@rayray8822: If you have any interest in sci-fi at all I would strongly recommend watching firefly. Both netflix and hulu plus have the full series available.

I may DVR it, just so it shows up in the TiVo database as having been done. I've got the episodes on BluRay, as well as available via Netflix, so no need to wait. Sometime soon I'll go through and watch them all again. I always save "The Message" for last.

I don't have cable so I'm trying to figure out a way to watch it (other than bribing someone at the gym to stay open late enough so that I can watch it there). Might have a line on a friend who still has a VCR. Otherwise, I'll be scouring the interwebs for a way to legally watch it online.

Oooh, thanks! I knew it was coming up, but didn't know when or where. I will definitely be DVRing it!

@metaphore: Would it be the same characters with different actors or a different group in the same universe?

vote-for2vote-against

:::Sigh::: No Science Channel on my cable, and no Netflix/Hulu here. I suppose I will survive though.

@hossdawg97: I really wish I could find the article where they were talking about this :(.
IIRC it will be the same characters by the same actors pretending they all didn't age 10 years and writing off the movie so everyone is still alive.

@metaphore: Seems like that would be a heavy schedule for Nathan Fillion with his duties on Castle.

vote-for1vote-against

@hossdawg97: I'm sure he would find the time for it, he still loves firefly and gets a bunch of firefly references in castle. As long as the shows don't run on the same season it seems doable.

@metaphore: And Gina Torres (Zoe) has a leading role on Suits, but perhaps she could still manage the shooting schedule.

vote-for4vote-against

@hossdawg97: Nathan Filion stated when the Science Channel started running Firefly that if it came back he would drop Castle to work on Firefly.

vote-for3vote-against

@metaphore: I will only accept that if it's a cartoon and features the original cast. Because I'm pretty sure that's the only way it could feature the original cast. God, I love them all, except for Simon. Even Simon, a little bit.

What?!

Argh. No cable.

@cobracat03: Any anyway, I don't know how much longer Castle has. It has been running for five seasons, and the "who killed Beckett's mom" plot line is getting kind of old.

But, in any event, Whedon has kind of stomped on the idea of anybody else moving forward with another Firefly, even if they were able to pry the rights from Fox. Which they probably couldn't.
