Another Warehouse 13 vote. Early Eureka was also fun. Also try the "original" Avengers...some of the episodes are fascinatingly weird 60's British sci fi (not sure if they have more available than those eps as Netflix + I have parted ways, but definitely a show worth watching if you can find it) https://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Avengers_The_Best_of_the_Original_Avengers/70045615?locale=en-US

Fifth edit: time to sleep, I think. Babylon 5 is a series I remember enjoying + would like to have a chance to rewatch. The art design took an organic turn that I found intriguing,

@jsimsace: I have upvoted them all! So THERE to the serial downvoter!

I appreciate all the recommendations!

There is an apparent serial down-voter loose on this thread, but I will offer my opinion anyway. I would choose to watch The X-Files and Lost!. Granted, they are not sci-fi but are both very thought-provoking.

Twin Peaks
This show was the equivalent to LOST back in the day...

If you are not restricted by just SciFi, then try The Sopranos, it was an AMAZING show.

My SciFi Pics:
Battlestar Galactica (the recent version), Firefly then watch Serenity, Farscape

I second all of the SciFi series recommendations. For non-Scifi, might I suggest Burn Notice?

More that I have seen and loved....
Doctor Who..almost goes without saying!
Torchwood....there are several
Quantum Leap
Lost
Caprica...I think it was sorta cancelled before any real conclusion...I was enjoying it.

is the series Haven over? Seems a good choice if so.

My list:
Firefly, Stargate SG-1 (after watching the completely different movie called Stargate), The X-Files, LOST.

EDIT: Oh, and DOCTOR WHO!!!!! (the 2005 reboot)

vote-for8vote-against

My favs are already listed - Firefly, Farscape, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Sliders (until the last season- which is horrible), Torchwood, Quantum Leap

DOCTOR WHO! (Saturday night is the last Amy and Rory episode)

You might want to try Warehouse 13 and Haven from SyFy or Falling Skies from TNT. Give them an episode or two to see if you like them.

I'm a Whedonite, so I'm gonna suggest Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, you've already seen Firefly, but how about its movie spin-off Serenity? There's also Eureka, Sherlock (which isn't sci fi, but is awesome), Torchwood (but only if you're a Doctor Who fan), Tin Man which I really liked but is more like Sherlock where it has 3 episodes at 1 1/2 hours each, Alphas, and Once Upon a Time (more fantasy than sci fi, but I like it).

Also, I'm not sure if they're DVD. I only stream, but I don't think there are any "streaming only" titles, but there very well could be.

I really enjoyed Space: Above and Beyond when it was on the air, and have the box set of it too.

Babylon 5 has a hit and missy sort of first season but it evens out really nicely into some compelling storytelling overall.

I remember enjoying Caprica for the most part.

X Files
Quantum Leap
Sliders (at least seasons 1-2)

I should make of list of ones that I have seen....lol.

Battlestar Galactica...done...loved it!
Firefly...done...loved it
Farscape....done MUPPETS!!!!!!....loved it.

have seen none of the Stargates or Babylon 5

I agree with @lumpthar and @adadavis. I enjoyed Babylon 5 and finally caught Battlestar when BBCA ran it a few months ago and also liked it. There was another series, Caprica, set in the Battlestar Galactica timeline. I think it was a prequel, but I haven't watched it yet. All of the Stargate series were good. Stargate Universe was killed off way too early. Don't forget the Serenity movie after Firefly and The Peackeeper Wars after Farscape. There was another series, Crusade, set in the Babylon 5 universe.

I'll second what @lumpthar said. Both excellent series.

Add: Firefly, Farscape, Stargate SG-1, SG Atlantis, SG Universe

Babylon 5 or Battlestar Galactica.
I've seen most of B5 and I like it a lot. Seasons 4 and 5 are the best because the early seasons spend a lot of time setting the back story for the Big Conclusion in Seasons 4 & 5.
I haven't seen any Battlestar, but it's on my list.
