What tv/movie does fall put you in the mood for?
Fall always puts me in the mood for darker/creepier stuff. Do I ever want to rewatch Twin Peaks in the middle of summer? Oh goodness no. But once the weather starts turning, I am up for some David Lynch creepiness.
And then there's traditional fall/Halloween classics, of course.
How about you? What can't you resist watching this time of year?
Men in Black 3
Battleship
Walking Dead and Dexter!
We usually watch the Shining or Dawn of the Dead too.
This season I can't wait for American Horror Story. One week away!!!!
Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter are all up there as well. But nothing beats AHS!
i agree with the walking dead. i also can't resist watching hocus pocus every time it comes on tv.
FOOTBAWL!!!
@pemberducky: YES. THIS.
And scary movies, of course.
My kids and I usually do the Lord of the Rings trilogy leading up to winter, this year especially leading up to the Hobbit. I also enjoy bundling up and watching some scary movies I've missed over the years, Netflix is good for this purpose
@the18thtee84: scary movies needs to be more specific!
Scary is in the eye of the beholder, mind you.
I really like getting into something like Any Given Sunday, Friday Night Lights, and maybe even Rudy. The Program is sort of a guilty pleasure, too. Oh man, I totally want to watch Necessary Roughness now.
YOU BETTER HAVE IT, NETFLIX.
@gatzby: oooo now i wanna watch The Longest Yard/Waterboy.
<3 dan patrick cameos!
@gatzby: I picked up Necessary Roughness at Walmart a while back for $5. :)
I like watching CORPSE BRIDE around this time of year. I'm also looking forward to Tim Burton's new film FRANKENWEENIE.
On Netflix I've been watching the first season of ONCE UPON A TIME. Not frightening, but it's fairly tale milieu does offer creepy undertones in some episodes. I'm looking forward to season 2.
Although my overall favorite scary movie is POLTERGEIST. I can watch that anytime. Of course, I won't be able to sleep for a few days, but it is definitely worth it.
@sully51: Is that the college football movie with Scott Bakula? I love that film. Truly a guilty pleasure.
@thetexastwister: Yeah, ONCE can be creepy and fluffy at the same time!
"The Nightmare Before Christmas" goes into heavy rotation this month, and stays out until Christmas.
I second "The Nightmare Before Christmas." It gets an extra-long period of 'in season' because it can count as either a Halloween or Christmas movie.
Not quite time yet, but I'll be breaking out "The Muppet Christmas Carol" soon.
The original Halloween movie.
Blazing Saddles
I'm also in the mood for THE MUNSTERS. Goofy fun for Halloween.
The Trouble WIth Harry. And I start wanting to watch Scooby Doo cartoons with breakfast.
Not a movie, but it's a tradition: It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
