I have used a bluetooth with a dongle that I picked up on Woot cheap. Usually Woot have a few for sale during a Woot-Off.

My suggestion would be to look at Plantronics latest offerings. You really want a headset to avoid feedback issues with using the speakers. They are not too expensive. The Plantronics Gamecon 377 uses the standard Analog Audio headphone and Mic jacks on the computer as opposed to USB, which can have audio issues.

I'd advise this one because it really will pick up the nuances of your voice... which helps when you are on Skype and want that emotion conveyed.

I have found out that Skype has an excellent digital echo suppressor.

I went from using headsets to regular speakers and the mike in my Microsoft camera. No feedback or echo reported.

If you have professional needs, sure there are better setups.

start with a cheap one from walmart or amazon (whatever) not too cheap though, then you'll begin to figure out what your preferences are and decide if it's worth it to spend a lot or a little...
