I don't live on a coast. I live near dead center.

you guys are welcome to your oceans, and rising sea levels and tsunamis, and super hurricanes... I'll stick with my tornadoes, and blinding blizzards.

East coast state representing here; however, I'm 4 hours from the water and less than 2 hours from the mountains.

@missellienc:

Yeah, but you're down south. ;)

I think the west coast has an easier time of it since the woot day rolls over so early fro them. I have to stay up until 1AM (since becoming active on deals.woot, I frequently go to bed at 8 or 9PM, sleep until 1AM, then go back to bed about 4 or 5 for a few hours.

Ok, how about we just go by PST, MTZ, CST, and ETZ (sorry GMT, Etc...).

@baqui63

You are definitely a dedicated wooter.

vote-for5vote-against

Why no love for the Central time zone? Or Mountian Time? or Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time? Those guys have it really easy they can check woot at 8pm if my math is correct.

Shandong, China here (Qingdao, middle-east coast).

Even though woot doesn't ship here, I have all of my goodies stockpiled at my alternate address in the states. Can't wait to get back home in March! :D

I live in Germany.... I don't think there are many wooters 'round here.

@baqui63: I think your math is wrong. The far west (Pacific) is three hours behind central, I believe, so they'd have to stay up until 3 am to woot.

@captainsuperdawg:

Huh? Maybe I'm missing something, but ignoring Daylight Saving Time (which annoys me), Atlantic is -400 (ie. four hours behind GMT), Eastern is -500, Central is -600, Mountain is -700, Pacific is -800, Alaskan is -900 and Hawaiian is -10. (What I find interesting is that part of Alaska is in the Hawaiian time zone).

Thus 12:00 AM (midnight) in Carrolton, TX is

02:00 AM in St Thomas (US Virgin Islands)
01:00 AM in New York
12:00 AM in Carrolton
11:00 PM in Denver
10:00 PM in San Diego
09:00 PM in Fairbanks
08:00 PM in Honolulu

On days that I have to be up at 6AM, going to bed at 2AM is not so great. Most days I don't have to be up until 9AM, so it isn't as bad.

@captainsuperdawg: Not sure what you're talking about, unless the earth is now spinning in the opposite direction. When it's Midnight in the Garden of Deals and Woot, it's 8PM in Honolulu.

Here's a fun link for the curious.

I do point out that, except for shirts, folks in Honolulu aren't going to care much, though, since the other Woot sites don't ship to AK or HA.

On the other hand, this was originally a question about black triangles, not about who could or couldn't woot. Just pointing out the obvious. It's my job.

[Edit] Just saw that @baqui63 had responded, but I like my links, so I'm leaving the post up.

@baqui63 and @shrdlu: You're both right. I wrote that comment about 5 minutes after waking up. My brain wasn't functioning properly, so don't mind my stupidity.

vote-for5vote-against

@jumbowoot A black triangle map would be interesting to see. Your JUMBOWOOT, you can make it happen!

vote-for3vote-against

East Coast...three hours from the beach; two from the mountains, also.
