I wouldn't watch a reality show about...well...anything. This is supported by the fact that there is now a reality show for pretty much everything, and I don't watch a single one of them.

Prince and Sheila E, yes.
Prince Charles and the drab lady, talking about tampons, no.

Bonus points for anyone who knows what I am talking about.

No. I don't watch any of the lack of reality shows out there.

The only type of "reality" show I am interested in is a documentary you'd find on PBS or the history channel.
You know, real reality. ;-)
As opposed to the type of "reality" show I think you are referring to. Those aren't really real.

@ceagee: for some reason,in my head, i imagined you whispering that last sentence :-)

No I would not watch a "reality" TV show about the royal family.

As one star as this sounds, the only real reality show is COPS>

@pickypickypicky: I know exactly what you are talking about! Bonus points for you if you post the Saturday Night Live clip with a song about it - I believe it may have been "Operaman".

@hot72chev: I can't, but do I get half point bonus for remembering the skit?

To fill you in on how royalty lives:

They spend money that isn't theirs* (tax revenues) on things that no one would ever need. Oh, and they're better than everyone else that ever lived (even their ancestors) despite never having done anything except be born into the position they're in.

I would certainly never watch a show about them.

*They do have personal incomes from different endeavors

@pickypickypicky: Ah, I'll give ya a whole point anyway. I can't find the clip either.

Ehh I'd probably watch. I know there's a lot of hate going on around here regarding "reality" tv (and it's totally founded!) but I must admit that some of these "reality" shows are entertaining. No one said you have to believe any of it is more than bulls**t or less than a waste of time. I have accepted that this kind of entertainment is just one of my guilty pleasures!

@dows: My problem with it isn't the fact that it isn't "reality". I am deeply glad that those shows aren't a true reflection of reality. It has to do with what people choose to reshape reality as. Most of these shows are dehumanizing, at least the glimpses I have had when trapped someplace where someone else was in control of the set. I rarely watch sit-coms because I don't care for the sort of mean-spirited humor that's prevalent in them. I certainly am not going to watch people tear one another apart for my entertainment in some sort of distorted version of reality. No bread and circuses for me, thanks.

I'll pretend I didn't hear that...
