Try ebay. I've had good luck there.

I second the eBay suggestion, that's where my husband bought the new battery for his laptop.

Agree with the others on ebay. Also, it's likely you're buying the same battery but without the branding (and way cheaper).

Thanks!

I was a little leery about them, but I'll look into it.

Thanks for the link :)

My eBay laptop battery buying experiences have been less than awesome... bought two from two separate vendors months apart for a Toshiba and neither battery seemed to last more than month before they would exhaust themselves in 10-15 minutes. I tried tricks to see if it was a battery memory issue, etc. but nothing fixed it. I'm sure you can find good, legit battery deals on eBay, just be a little careful.

Thanks - I found several that were used - no go, and hundreds from china. Ended up going with one that had three good reviews for the exact battery I wanted. $16.65 - I guess I can afford to gamble that much.

Thank you all for taking the time to help! Y'all are the best :)

I bought one about 3 months ago from Amazon. Got it for comparable price to eBay but had no problems with it...had it in 3 days.

I've got the L675.

@kryzer: Try not to buy from an international seller, there usually less quality. Look for trusted sellers on eBay or if your really skeptical, buy from newegg or Amazon.

I bought my replacement battery from Amazon and it works great.Good luck

Outside of eBay I've had good luck with notebook-batteries.net: http://www.notebook-batteries.net/. They are based in Fremont, CA. They do have a few other domains associated with them, but all batteries I've purchased from them have arrived safely and work well.

Thanks!

Am I the only one who buys batteries from Amazon?

Last battery I bought was through amazon... got a Nikon for my DSLR which after a few months I realised was a China fake (from a US seller) and quit in short order.

Now with Amazon FSSS price increase, makes even less sense to buy from them. Personally I need batteries for my cordless phones now, and I'll buy the cells and build the packs before buying another non oem pack from an eBay seller or Amazon seller.

/Also, there are places that rebuild packs for good prices... stores like Batteries+ for example charge less than half of new for rebuilding your pack with all new cells. Had several Dewalt drill packs done that way with success.

Thanks for that information.

I didn't think the batteries for drills could be rebuilt. I always thought it was some sort of planned obsolescence. I'm gonna remember that!

We have wireless IP phones that take rechargeable batteries packs. I opened one up and there was 3 1.2 volt cells that I found on amazon for under $2 each, and a small circuit board. (I assuming to regulate charging). The battery as a whole cost $40.
