Any good ideas for Vegas Bars?

Me and some friends (around 8) are going to Las Vegas in February to just vacation and I was wondering if anybody had any bar recommendations or any fun alcohol related events that they could recommend. We are all around 27 yrs old and looking to hangout with that type of crowd. Obviously we will be at the casinos but we are staying at the Cosmo and I wanted to know if anyone had any good places to recommend.

There are several that are in the celebrity news areas, but you will never get to the VIP area. Otherwise, I have no advice for you other than to pick some that have good bands, shows, no cover if necessary, so that you can visit a few in one evening if you so desire.

I should have some ideas.... but..... Those nights are a little cloudy. I have no recollection of the names of the bars that I allegedly visited.

My favorite on the strip was the outdoor bar at Harrahs, but that's a bit of a walk from the Cosmo.

The thing about the Vegas strip, and especially the South strip (where you will be,) is things are a lot farther apart than they look. It looks like the closest casinos to you are the Bellagio, City Center, Monte Carlo, Paris, Bally's, and Planet Hollywood. You'll probably never leave that group of casino's and since each casion will have many bars, you will have plenty of options. Heck, if the Cosmo has some decent bars, you may never leave there during your stay.

One finally bit of advice. You probably won't make it all the way down to New York New York, but if you do make it, stop there. Resist the temptation to keep going all the way to Excalibur. Its trash.

@rustybender: But past Excalibur, Mandalay Bay is good. I like their lounges.

But OP you probably will not need to go that far anyway.

Women dance behind curtains; hence, the "Shadow" and the bartenders are very entertaining.

its a bit pricey on the cover only spend 15-60 minutes in there but you wear fur coats and take shots out of edible ice shot glasses and sit on solid ice loveseats. Or you can take shots of the nipples of a woman ice sculpture
