How much money has Woot! saved you?
I know you can argue if it wasn't for woot you would have not purchased hundreds of things. But lets put that aside.
Also, go over realistic savings. If you saw a watch with a msrp for 500 dollars but every store online was selling it for 250 and you picked it up for 225, I wouldn't necessarily count that as 275 saved.
If I had to make a guess, I would probably say I have saved 750 maybe almost 1000 dollars on woot items. If I see something on woot I like I see if I could sell 2 of them at a swap meet/ebay and recoup most of my money. A lot of times I can and do. And I can't tell you how many times I have been looking for a gift with a budget of 30-50 dollars to find the perfect gift for 10 or 20. Thanks woot!
How much do you think you've saved?
Edit: I'm talking about the whole woot site: wine, kids, shirt, woot, deals/sellout.
I don't think you should be so quick to put aside the 'woot made me buy it' factor. Even considering the true market value, a lot of the things woot sells just isn't worth it at the prices elsewhere. Refurbs, old models, dead model lines, chintzy brands, describes a lot of my purchases. I think every item I bought was totally worth the price i paid for it, but not a cent more. Never mind $20 more at amazon.
Excluding my multiple Sansa fuze purchases. Those always saved me $5-20 and I would have paid the extra elsewhere.
Nevertheless, playing by your rules, I'd guesstimate about $400. Most of that being an HP media center that was a bit more elsewhere.
I'm not dissing woot at all... I'm just saying everything I bought was at a completely appropriate and mutually fair value.
I'd say I'm in the thousands of savings, I got a super cheap foam mattress that could have been thousands more than what I paid (under $300), I got an all-in-one desktop last year that was selling for $300 more on amazon at the time, I got super fancy wine chocolates that made awesome cheap but ultimately fancy looking gifts to more "distinguished" friends/coworkers. Bought multiple roombas (one for myself, others for family) on the cheap and a crazy baby monitor system that I got halfprice on kids woot. Its safe to say I'm a deal-addict.
IDK, but alot is all I know.
It has also cost me money (stupid impulse buying) so I would say it probably washes out.
I've made over 200 Woot purchases, so at $25 savings each that would be $5K in savings. I know some of the bigger items have saved me hundreds in one fell swoop, so it's possible I've saved quite a bit more. (Yikes, 200 Woots is $1000 in shipping alone, that's pretty scary.)
I save no money. I keep buying stuff.
Looking at my shirt.woot collection ... I don't think I saved any money. My rough guess is that half was from the secondary market, but that still means that I've spent at least $800 in (new) shirts.
deals.woot helped me get 2 $70 21.5" acer monitors, which i believe saved me about 60$ total (assuming you can get them for $100 each normally)
One mill-lion dollars ;)
I truly do not know. Must say there's some intrinsic value in being able to purchase goods from such an honorable company. ::Is my nose brown now?:: Actually, the laughs I get from woot are worth something. Thank goodness I don't have to purchase anything to LOL daily!
With items received in BoCs, along with $200 in savings when I bought my dyson, I'd say about 400 total, give or take.
Well, I started buying as a way to thank a local company for them for putting a giant Ken Jennings head outside their HQ. Saving money? People really do that on Woot? I guess I never made the connection.
i wouldn't say saved. But i did make a few bucks by selling what i did buy :D
Love Woot even though i prolly waste more then i make :/
Woot has never saved me money. The things that Woot convinces me to buy are things that I never would have bought if it wasn't for Woot's nagging.
I've spent on flying monkeys all that I've saved and more...
lol, saved me money? Woot has saved me money only in the sense that I spend alot more money now because of all the good deals.
lol save money, made me spend lots more then I would have, but got some really great items though. I picked up several mp3 players that my dad and my younger brothers and sisters love My daughter loves them too.
At the moment I'd say it's been a wash but if you ignore one deal I purchased that ended up breaking on its third use, I've probably saved around $70 bucks so far.
