I'm not into graphic novels, but I'm into Pugs. I've been following the weekly additions to http://battlepug.com/ I know the author is involved in a lot of other projects too.

If you're open to Japanese manga, D. Gray-Man is pretty cool, as is Death Note.

Otherwise, I recommend The Ultimates.

Those are some pretty good collections that I've read. I've heard good things about others on wilcononomous' list, but I havent read them (such as Scalped, The Goon, Hellblazer, Preacher). If you're interested there are also many collected DC and Marvel works, that are just the reprinted collections of older works.
